A worthy friend

After running and jogging for about 10 minutes, Yebou came across a stream. The stream was filled with countless people as some were washing their clothes, others waiting for their clothes to dry after hanging them, and some, fetching water from the stream, while others engaged in a heated argument.

Yebou scanned his surroundings and his eyes lit up as he spotted a familiar figure at the far side of the stream, away from the overcrowded space. Even though the person had his back to him, he was able to quickly identify him. How could he possibly fail to identify his childhood friend?

Yebou started walking towards where Joe was heading to. However, after taking less than 7 steps, a group of people came blocking his path.

"Hey! Yebou Where are your manners? Why didn't you greet us after your arrival? A man with distinctive features which made him stand out from the rest of the group said sarcastically.

He had a muscular build, a low haircut, and finally two pointy ears. Moreover, he seems to be in his mid-twenties. Yebou scrutinized him.

" Oh! It seems I've forgotten about my manners. My apologies to the senior. Yebou replied playfully. When the group heard those words, they all wore smug expressions on their faces while others ridiculed him. "As expected from a loser!" They thought.

"Hahaha. Very good. However, it is not enough. You can't apologize to your elders while standing. Kneel and apologize! The burly man demanded. "haha, the group started laughing."

However, before they could laugh to their heart's satisfaction, there was a loud shout from the very far side of the stream. A person could be seen approaching. They all had worried looks as they couldn't get a clear picture of the person. What if he was one of the police officers?

Since the child trafficking case occurred, the police have increased their vigilance. Police officers could be seen patrolling in almost every part of the village.

"Ato, the bully, what the fuck do you want with Kweku? Joe cursed as he approached." attracting the attention of all those in the stream.

"Who is that? Why does he have such a foul mouth? " Wait! Isn't that Joe, Grandma Akosua's grandson? "Right, he is the one but he isn't the type to say such things, so why is he behaving like this today?"

"Wait, look over there, isn't that Yebou?"

"Hey, shhh, low down your voice. I heard he beat the hell out of Blackie and his gang when they provoked him"

"Eeei, really, but when? "

"Yes, that's what I heard. Just recently"

Murmurings from the crowd could be heard as they discussed what was unfolding before their eyes as well as the recent gossip among the youth, Yebou teaching a lesson to Blackie and his gang.

It should be known that Yebou had always been the reserve type. He had never retaliated against anyone for offending him.

So it was difficult for them to believe that Yebou could suddenly have a change of personality. Moreover, Blackie and his gang weren't weak.

"Phew! Ato and his gang let out a sigh of relief when they saw the familiar person approaching."

"Oh so it's Joe, have you come to seek out Justice for your friend? Auto question coldly.

" So what if I've come? What can you do? Joe replied boldly.

Yebou shook his head as he observed what was happening. He was glad he had finally gotten a friend who was willing to stand up for him in times of danger.

"Good, you dare talk to me in such a way? It seems you have also forgotten your manners."

Subsequently, Ato raises his hand as he throws it across Joe's face. However, before his hand could hit Joe, "grip" Yebou acted as he held the hands firmly in his grip.
