A mighty figure

Oframasi, Grandma Akosua's House

.......

Eastern Region could be said to be the best region out of all the sixteen other regions when it comes to finding a place with cold air temperatures.

This is because its landscape consists of tall mountains and various streams/lakes which reduces the heat produced by the sun simply by absorbing its rays.

However, on this particular day, the temperature is so hot that everybody can be seen fanning themselves while walking.

The scorching heat pierce into the skin of all those under it with any form of cover making it extremely uncomfortable.

At the courtyard of a clay house sat four people playing ludu. These people were none other than Yebou with his sister Lizzy and Grandma Akosua with his grandson Joe.

After some unknown period, Yebou broke the silence as he decided to share his traveling information with Grandma Akosua.

"Grandma, after a long period of thinking, I have decided to leave this village along with Lizzy to travel to the city," Yebou states with a lowered head. "I feel this village is restricting our personal growth and potential." He added.

Not knowing how Grandma Akosua was going to receive the news, he dared not lift his head much less stare into her eyes as he was worried she may not take it kindly perhaps she may even shed tears.

"Raise your head. Why are you behaving like a kid? I don't know you to be this type. Grandma Akosua's voice sounded out.

" Did I hear right? Or Are my ears playing tricks on me? Yebou couldn't believe what he had just heard.

After all those sleepless nights he had, just to carefully select his choice of words to relay to her all seems to be futile now.

"Besides, I have always known you would become a mighty person in the future and this village wouldn't be enough to house your future accomplishments. She continues while smiling.

" How did you know?" Yebou asked confused. From his memories, the owner of this body had always been the insignificant type with no noteworthy skills and potential until his reincarnation.

So how could she have known that he would become a mighty figure someday?

"On your mother's dead bed, she proclaimed she had visited a very powerful priest." Grandma Akosua continues.

"She said you would become a very influential person in the future and when the time comes for you to leave this village I should allow you to leave"

"Oh? Is that all that you know or there are more? Yebou asked with suspicion. From the memories he inherited, he had no image of his parents. Hence he found it hard to believe what Grandma Akosua was saying.

The only people within those memory fragments were his sister together with Grandma Akosua then Joe.

So when did Grandma Akosua meet with his mother?

Although he finds everything strange, he knows perfectly well that Grandma Akosua wouldn't lie to him.

" Oh, that's all. She had wanted to talk more but unfortunately, she couldn't complete her sentence." Grandma Akosua said with tears threatening to flow out of her eyes.

"However, before you leave, please do me a favor. Grandma Akosua pleads with dull eyes.

"Grandma Akosua, you do me know me well. Whatever you have on your mind, Just tell me and I'll do it. Even if it is my life you want in exchange for yours, just tell me.
