No Escape

Panic visibly streaked across Mr. Joe's face. The matter at hand was obviously above his means. He had boastfully made a promise to the minister that he would get the job done within 3 days.

But who could have imagined that he would encounter this kind of situation, offending a member of the SWAT from the city? Those monsters? Truly, his luck was terrible.

However, he had greatly underestimated Yebou's reactivity. Just as he got down from the tree and made a run for the nearby bush, Yebou quickly got up and dusted his clothes spoke a few words to the Sergeant, and immediately activated dash.

"Whoosh!" Yebou surged forward with full force, running as fast as a cheetah.

"Shit!" Mr. Joe cursed and halted at the same time. He knew he wouldn't be able to outlast the kid after witnessing his incredible pace. Therefore, his only choice at the moment was to fight the kid head-on.

Hence, he stopped running and took cover behind a tree thereby preserving his energy. When he saw the distance between them decreasing rapidly, he stomped his leg with fury and took out a short gun from his waist.

Raising the gun in his hand, he fired a blind shot toward Yebou. Currently, it was around 8 in the evening. Therefore, his eye visibility was unclear and limited at the same time. He couldn't see clearly in the distance.

Nevertheless, "Bang!" The bullet that had been fired resounded violently in the air. It brought with it a high temperature that could burn everything and the naked eye couldn't see its trajectory.

The bullet flew and only narrowly missed Yebou's ear, though its whistling sound made his eardrum hum. He had narrowly missed being taken out by the angel of death.

"Damn it!" Yebou broke out in cold sweat. He was shocked by the assassin's shooting skills.

_He surely does have some skills_ He thought. It should be known that he was currently putting on the invisible night goggles which enhanced his vision greatly. He could see everything clearly like daytime.

The Assassin, on the other hand, had no system whatsoever that could improve his vision. However, he nearly got shot by just a blind shot from him.

No matter how strong one's heart may be, the shock from such a thing could make anyone break out in cold sweat. Though he has the spirit of a veteran, he is still a human after all.

He calmed down quickly and lifted his head. However, the assassin was nowhere to be found. He had vanished like a ghost.

...

Meanwhile, a large fleet of police cars were heading to their location, having received the call from Sergeant Quaye. The piercing screams of Police sirens rang out as the convoy rushed toward the outskirts of the village.

Upon arriving at the outskirts of the village, some alighted including LC Barrack in search of some clues while the others continued their search in the cars.

"This is unbelievable! Where the hell did those guys go? We've been following them for such a long time and haven't found any trace of them yet."

"Hmm. To get us lost within just a couple of minutes. Those guys must be something." Two police officers walking beside LC Barrsck conversed as they searched their surroundings, looking despondent.

However. In no time, they heard the sound of a fired gun. LC Barrack immediately took out his walkie and reported it to his superior.

"Hello Sergeant, the perpetrator is armed with a sniper rifle and a shotgun. It looks like he is not your average criminal. We...."

"I don't care who is he. If he is stirring trouble in our jurisdiction, then he has no respect for our police force. Send word that I want each major unit to send their best men to the outskirts of the village. We will surround the area and form a net that no man, not even a bug, can escape." Sergeant Quaye thundered furiously inside one of the police cars.
