Capturing the assassin

Instead, he tried to discern the identity of the person who had kicked him. Though he knew perfectly well that it was the doings of the kid, he wanted to confirm it with his own two eyes as the saying goes to see is to believe.

After catching a glimpse of the person and noticing that it was the informant, his face wore the same disbelief as when his bullet got dodged.

Who could have thought that a young kid he'd overlooked would come back to bite him as such a fearsome enemy?

As an assassin, his specialty lies in moving in the shadows and executing sneak attacks. They don't normally excel in close combats. It's only a few well-trained ones that can fight in close range.

Therefore, when he had his first shot dodged by the kid, that was when he knew he had failed the mission.

As Yebou readied the killing blow, his heightened senses picked up the police sirens a few eighty yards away. They were quickly approaching.

He stopped himself short and tied up both hands and legs of the assassin and after that knocked him unconscious. He then turned around and headed eastward.

Activating the dash skill and slamming both feet on the ground, he shot off like a bullet and disappeared like a ghost.

Though he could have killed the assassin, For his interest, it would be best if he left it to the police to do their job as it would help him avoid unwanted troubles.

Furthermore, the system stated that for the mission to be deemed successful, he would need to capture or kill the target.

So, judging from the statement from the system, as long as he captures the assassin, the mission will be announced as completed. He had the option to either kill or capture the target alive.

And that option, he chose to capture rather than to kill.

.....

About ten minutes later, a large contingent of Police cars arrived at the stream with LC Barrack and Sergeant Quaye reunited in one police vehicle. While the other police officers who searched on foot arrived twenty minutes later.

When they got further to the stream, they saw someone lying motionless in a pool of blood with both of his hands and legs tied.

"Damn it! What the hell is happening?" Sergeant Quaye cursed. He knew a serious fight had happened there and the situation might have taken a bad turn.

_I hope nothing tragic has happened to him._He thought. Looking at the pool of blood on the ground, it didn't belong to one person. If so, the kid is likely to be the other person who has his blood spilled here.

The police immediately went on alert. All the police officers were on edge now. The place itself seemed to close around them threateningly. They felt as if they were surrounded by enemies lurking in the depths.

_Right, could he be?_ Sergeant Quaye gasped when a sudden thought hit him. At this time of the night, anybody moving around this place could be said to be suspicious.

Moreover, apart from the kid and the assassin, no one had entered the stream besides them. If the person lying on the ground isn't the kid, then that leaves it to one possibility.

Subsequently, Sergeant Quaye went towards the person lying on the floor, searched his surroundings, and ransacked his clothes.

Astonishingly, he found a sniper rifle, a short gun with two ammunition bullets, and a picture of himself.
