Monday’s curse is another man’s blessings

Angel's pov******

I was snoring away on my bed. Dreaming of everything that I could've been doing in school.

"Wake up, you fat hippo!" I heard my mom yell.

"Mooooom! 5 more minutes. No wait, maybe 15 more minutes..." I slurred.

My mom grabbed my feet and dragged me off my bed "I swear to God, Angel! I should have sold your blood to the hospitals to make sleeping tablets! You're so lazy!"

I groaned "I'm not lazy! I work hard in things that matter... Like sleep"

My mom kicked me softly and I turned over, wrapping my thick blanket around me like a shell "I don't want to go to school. Today's Monday"

"And what's wrong with Mondays?"

I sat up and gave her a look "Haven't heard of Monday's curse?!"

She gave me a look that made me cower "You mean your Monday curse? Tsk. Get up or I'll really sell you"

"Mom don't say that. You love me"

"As much as I love you, it doesn't change the fact that I gave birth to a live sleeping pill"

I scooted closer to my mom's legs and rubbed my body. She kicked me and scolded"Don't touch me until you've had your bath! You're starting to stink!"

"It's Monday stink, mom" I retorted.

My mother left me with a glare and I gulped.

I got ready for today.

Siiiigh. Mondays. Could any day be much worse than a stupid hectic Monday? Uuuuggh. Here we go again.

I was ready to go to school. After tying my hair into a big messy curly bun, and wearing my school uniform. A white shirt, with a free black pleated skirt. My white socks and black sneakers on my beautiful feet.

I looked at myself in the mirror. I was a black just like my dad, but I was a hot one. Amen to that!

Black and BEAUTIFUL!!!

"I love you mom! Bye!" I yelled as I grabbed 3 toasts and ran out before she could scold me more!

I grabbed my bike and hopped on. I got to school in one piece and entered the hallways.

Where is my bestie? Why was she late?

That's when I saw the most popular girl in our set.

~~~
"Uhh... Hi... Chelsea. Good to see you in the hallways so early." I greeted with a smile.
She smiled back and I saw her minions gather round.
I swallowed hard. This wasn't going to end well....
Dammit! This is what I was talking about! Monday's curse!
Curse you Monday!
Sam's POV******
I woke up early as usual. I packed my bags for school and checked the clock for the time. 5am?!
Fudge! That's not enough time to read!
I rushed and ran down the stairs to meet my mom making breakfast.
"Honey, you're awake" she beamed.
"Mom? You're awake by this time?" I asked surprised.
My parents usually weren't up by this time so I was able to leave for school without talking to them.
"I noticed how you usually wake up early to leave the house for school, so I thought I might get up earlier than usual to watch you eat before you left" she replied with a loving smile.
I felt my heart sink.
I ate silently and whispered a thank you.
My mom smiled and reached out to pat my hair, but I stood up abruptly and left.
I wasn't a big fan of physical contact. I just wasn't.
I took the bus to school and got there right on time. I was walking in the hallways when my eyes fell on Chelsea and her friends slamming a girl across the lockers.
"Hey, Chels. Good morning to you too. Can you let me go, please?" The girl pleaded with a smile.
Chelsea and her friends snickered "it's never a good morning when you're around, freak"
The girl smirked "I feel honored that I am so important to you that your daily status depends on my presence"
Chelsea scowled "You? Important?! I laugh in Spanish!"
The girl giggled "It's surprising that your two brain cells actually picked up a language"
Chelsea breathed "How dare you!"
The girl gagged "Chelsea, would you mind some breathing space. The smell of insecurities in the morning isn't so nice and I'm scared I might puke all over you"
Chelsea was furious and I couldn't help but snort trying to hold my laughter.
All their heads snapped to my direction and Chelsea turned red seeing that I had heard how the girl had roasted her.
She let the girl go and strutted away with the rest of them.
The girl started panting for air.
She turned to me and plastered a large grin on her face.
"Thank you so much! You must be my knight in shining armor. Took you long enough" she said.
I scrunched my nose at the girl's words. Me? Her knight? As if. I didn't even want to help her. I just happened to be passing by when Chelsea embarrassed herself.
She clung to my arm and batted her lashes like an adorable little kitten "Now take me away, oh knight"
I could feel my face twitch with the physical contact.
I didn't even know the girl for crying out loud.
I growled "Let go"
The girl was still hooked like a tapeworm to the intestine.
"I said let..."
"Angel?" A voice called.
Our heads turned to the owner of the voice.
I sighed in relief. The owner was a tall tanned skin girl with shoulder length black hair. It was Richie. She was one of my classmates and we were well acquainted with each other.
The girl left me and ran to hug the tall girl "Baby!"
Wait! Richie knew this brat?!
Richie started to scold the girl and knock her head. I was pleased. The girl had just assaulted me.
I walked away after dusting myself.
Today started off to be my normal Monday, but after the accident with the girl, it was now what other people call... Monday's curse.
I never knew that Monday had it in their heart to curse me. No one can ever be loyal for once in their life huh?!
Stupid Monday Curses
Angel's POV******
Chelsea had me pinned to the locker. I can't lie, it hurt.
I was clearly winning her with my wits but we were interrupted by a snort coming from the corners.
My eyes widened when I saw a guy. He was sort of like a creamy skin color and had brown wavy hair that was pretty messed up. He was tall, but I'm pretty sure he wasn't as tall as my baby, Richie. Richie was a blooming 6 feet 3 inches. I was 5'9". The guy should be around 5'11" by my discreetness. I’ll remember to check again later. Heehee
Chelsea backed down after realizing that someone had seen how she was clearly roasted by me.
She ran away with her minions and I held my chest, taking a few breathers. Did she want to kill me? What was the death grip for?
I turned to my hero. He was a hot one. I suddenly felt the urge to tease him.
I clung to his arm like a koala and purred.
"THANK YOU SO MUCH! My knight in shining armor!"
I looked up to him with a big smile. "What took you so long?"
I saw his face all scrunched up and my smile widened. I had a reputation for being a weird or creepy weirdo... Or freak, because I had no shame.... At all!
"Let go" I could hear him growl.
I pursed my lips in disappointment and rubbed my head on his arm like a kitty that wanted head pats.
"I said let me..."
I heard Richie's voice call my name and I ran to give her the biggest squeeze "Richie!!! Baby!"
I turned to look at the boy but he had already turned to leave.
I suddenly felt a hard smack at the back of my head.
"Ouch!"
"Oh, you deserved it! Why were you clinging yourself to Sam like a frikin Koala?!"
I tilted my head "Sam?"
Richie looked surprised "You don't even know his name and you..."
Richie rubbed her temples and I squealed "You know him?! Omg! Please tell me about him!"
”Don’t tell me you’ve never heard of the name SAMUEL LENARD“
I gasped “No way! Like... smartest student Samuel Lenard?!”. Richie nodded and I squealed while shaking her arm violently “Oh my Gosh! Spill the tea, girl! Spill! Spill!!”
Richie looked at me and groaned "He's a case, Angie. Just leave it"
I pouted "Come on, baby. Sam it up for me"
Richie gave me a look "Sam. It. Up???"
"Yeah, just sum it up... Sam it up for me"
Richie shook her head but after serious begging, she gave in.
"He's in my class. Class A"
"Oooh. He's a smarty pants like you?"
"Shut up"
I ran my fingers over my mouth to show an invisible zip.
"He doesn't like physical touch and he's not close to anyone except Oliver. He only talks when it's about studies and he's the smartest among us. You know, straight A student and all."
"That's nice to know. Why isn't he close to you guys?"
"Oh he's... Clos-ish. He just doesn't see us as friends. More like acquaintances. He only comes to us when there's a reason or a need to. He doesn't like having conversations with us. Everytime we try, we end up with short talks"
I nodded my head in response to what she was saying.
"He's a bit cold hearted you might say. He's never accepted anyone as a friend and even regards Oliver, his best friend as just a 'close acquaintance'"
I nodded as we got closer to our classes.
"He like a jellyfish. Cute and loveable, but his stings are poisonous. He stays on his own and everyone knows to respect his space and privacy."
"Oh..."
"We've tried to get him to open up, make him enjoy himself, but he's too cold. And he makes us feel like we're nothing to him"
"Jeez, what an urchin. Sounds like all those CEO stories I read on light reader. The cold hearted CEO. I fell in love with the cold hearted CEO. You are my one and only cold hearted CEO. The cold hearted CEO fell in love."
Richie chuckled "oh well,I hope I've Sammed it up for you. Do me a favor and Don't go near him to creep him out"
I gasped in shock "Richie! You think I'd annoy him? He's been through so much! Why would you think that I'd be all up in his face tryna pop his bubble? That's absurd!"
Richie gave a a look and I smiled "Okay, you have my word. I'll keep my weirdness level checked when I'm near him"
Richie glared at me "Don't go near him at all"
"Oooh~ Do you like him?" I asked and wiggled my brows.
I saw her ears turn red but she scoffed "N-no! I-I don't like short guys. Please!"
"Again, off to making people seem short because you're tall. When will you get over it?"
"Not my fault y'all didn't drink enough milk when you were little"
"Shifting the blame from genes to milk. Alright. If you say so. I'll try to stay away from our Senpai over here. Bye, baby"
Richie flashed me a smile and I went on to my class.
Class C.
Yeaaaaah, I wasn't the smartest, but I was the top of my class though. Class A was for the brightest students, Class B was for a mixture of smart and cool, while Class C was anything but smart- my class indeed.
I managed to get a few As in a term, and never got anything less than a C. My average was never less than 75. Yeah, I should've been in Class B at least right? But in Class A and B, those smart asses never got less than a B at least, and if their average was worse than 80, they'd sulk like wimps.
I thought about what Richie had told me about Sam.
I huffed.
What an urchin...
A smile etched on my face. I was going to change him.
I hope you're ready, Mr. Urchin, cuz you have a challenger.
