Just ONE Look

Angel's POV*******

I asked Mr. Urchin for his name. It's not like I didn't know it, I just wanted to hear it from him. I was trying to get him to open up, warm up to me.

Like I said, this was a challenge.

"Sam"

"Samuel Lenard"

Yup, the ‘Oh-so-great’ Samuel Lenard...

Everyone has heard his name tons of times in school.

Samuel Lenard, the smartest boy in school.

Samuel Lenard, the boy that was always going to competitions

Samuel Lenard, the boy that brought back trophies

Samuel Lenard, the boy that brought back medals

Samuel Lenard, the boy that brought back awards

Samuel Lenard, the boy that brought back number one!!!

It was always Samuel Lenard, but I was too busy with my life to care about his.

He seemed like someone that needed a friend to annoy him to the max, even when he shoves them away, and I was gladly going to offer to fill in.

"Well, Samuel Lenard. You're really cute" I giggled.

I saw him blush and I held back a laugh.

Adorable

I can't believe Richie wanted to keep this lil poochie all to herself.

And couldn't help but boop his nose "And you have a challenger" I whispered and left.

I left him with a wide grin on my face. Such a cutie.

I was walking down the hall when I bumped into Chelsea.

Just great.

"Hey, Chels. Anything you want?" I asked with a sweet smile.

Chelsea just snorted "Watch where you're going freak" and she strutted off.

I watched her to see where she was going and was a bit surprised to see her enter class A.

She was going to do something nasty! I had to stop her! Wait! Sam was there right? The class should be safe.

...

On second thought, let me just check. Sam might not be able to deal with someone like Chelsea like I have.

I peeked inside the classroom only to find Chelsea blushing and flirting with our top student.

"U-uhm.. Hey, Sam. I was invited to this party and I thought you could be my plus one and ..."

Sam cut her off with a cold tone "I won't be available, sorry"

"I-Its okay, maybe you could try to be available for this other party I was invited to..."

Samuel snapped "Does your life revolve around parties? Do you ever in your life even study? If you're going to waste my precious time, it better be something else other than parties, O'Ryan"

Chelsea bit her lip and I failed miserably at holding my laughter.

What a dunce.

My laughter turned into a look of fear when I saw Chelsea redden with rage.

Uh-oh.

If I don't make it, I just want you guys to know that the time I've spent alive and with you all have been the happiest and most precious. Pray for me, dear readers.

Sam's POV*******

I wanted Chelsea to leave. I wanted her as far away from me as possible.

My head suddenly snapped towards the direction of laughter.

The look on her face kept me in a trance for a minute.

That little dimple on her left cheek and the way her eyes lit up. Those empty, dark eyes...

Wait what?! What was that?!

I frowned when her laughter abruptly stopped.

I turned to her only to see a look of fear on her face. My gaze landed on Chelsea, who glared at her like she was going to have her head.

For some reason, I didn't want cat girl to get in trouble with Chelsea.

Wait, I didn't care.

I didn't care whether she got in trouble or not. It wasn't my business. She stuck her nose in my business and deserves whatever punishment she might get...

So, why did I still want to do this?

Our eyes met and I nudged my head gently to the side as a signal. She wasn't stupid and quickly splurged "U-uhm... Sam! I just wanted you to help me in Chemistry and I walked in on your conversation. I'm so sorry, should I leave?"

Chelsea narrowed her eyes as though trying to kill her with looks.

"No, it's okay. I wasn't busy" I replied and turned my gaze to Chelsea, silently telling her to get out.

Chelsea gritted her teeth as she marched off while harshly brushing her shoulder against cat girl.

She sighed in relief and ran to my side. In less than 5 seconds, my body was filled with warmth radiating from her skin.

Her arms around my neck, squeezing me.

"Get off" I snapped with a slight rise in my tone.

I was annoyed. Couldn’t she take a guess at how much I hate physical contact?!

"I can see that it was not worth helping you" I hissed and focused on my book.

She pouted and sighed "Thank you so much, Sam"

Her voce was soft.... So soft, I could melt. Her tone was so genuine.

"You're... Welcome"

For some reason, I was expecting her to hug me again, but she gladly didn't. She just smiled and started walking away.

"Wait" I called her and she turned around looking at me with questions in her eyes.

I found myself staring stupidly into her eyes, that looked like an endless abyss full of nothing but darkness.

"What?" She asked.

I cleared my throat, my cheeks turning slightly red.

"Why were you still here? I thought you left" the words spewed out of my mouth.

She scratched the back of her black thick curly hair.

"Uhmmm... I happened to bump into Chelsea on my way out and I had a hunch that she was up to no good, so I decided to spy on her" she chuckled nervously.

"Oh..." I muttered something incoherent and I tried to talk more.

"Why did you feel like she was up to no good?" I asked.

She sat next to me and smiled nervously "Well, you know what they say; ' You can smell mischief '"

I snorted "No one says that"

"I do" she quipped.

I chuckled at her response and I felt the urge to continue talking with her. It just felt so comfortable, since she didn't throw any topics or questions back at me.

"Why was she with you anyway? Oooh, does she like you?" She asked wiggling her brows. Yup! Those were the questions I was expecting.

Normally, I would've not even started a conversation let alone answer a question thrown at me or give my own inputs. I didn't care that much, but here I was, feeling free to tell her everything.

"Yeah, she makes it obvious. She was inviting me over to a party" I hissed

"Party? It seems like she's set a world record for most held parties in a week. This should be her 3rd one if I'm right" she stated.

I couldn't help but find myself liking her company. She was so funny and... Okay... I guess...

Samuel Lenard! What the Fudge did you just say?! What are you doing?! Are you really talking with this cat girl that violates you and disrespects your personal space?!

I must be going mad. Was I... Was I opening up to this girl?

I looked at her only to see her flashing a toothy grin and her cute lil dimple came to display.

I shook the thoughts away. She was just a classmate.

Yeah right. A classmate you met this morning and hated, now you're acting all open and free with the same one. You'll be distracted!

Yes! I needed to focus!

"Sam? Are you o..."

"Please leave" I mumbled

"What?" She asked leaning closer to hear me

"Leave!" I snapped and she flinched.

"Okay, okay. I'm leaving" she laughed.

I frowned at her and she walked away

"See you later, Sam"

I felt something sink in my chest when she left. I liked her company. I enjoyed it..I didn't want her to leave... At least not yet...

Her words made me feel strong again. I really hoped I could see her again. Just look at her...

Shut up Sam!

Angel's pov*******

Oh my God, I swear I was crying tears of joy when I heard the last bell ring.

I was packing my books excitedly when one of my favorite guys in my class, Michael, came to meet me.

"You wanna get ice cream? My treat, love" he said and winked.

I giggled and pinched him hard on his arm.

"Nah. I'm busy today. But, I'll be online, yeah?"

"Ouch. Okay. Do you still think I can go for Vivian?" He asked, our gazes turning to Vivian acting cold to Tad.

"No. Maybe you should try Aya and Glory though. I'm sure they'd love a fresh kid like you" I said and winked.

Michael's smile broadened and he ran his finger through his hair "You're right. I should ask Glory out"

"Yeah! Go get her! We're in 12th grade, go for it!" I cheered.

Michael turned to me and smirked "You're telling me. You're the one girl without someone close to a lover, talk less of a boy friend. When are you getting one?"

"When destiny decides, my fate is sealed" I replied with a smile of my own.

He rolled his eyes at me "Destiny needs you to man up and accept the guys' proposals you've been refusing"

I shushed him "oh, hush puppy. They're not serious with a relationship. I don't want my relationship to be a flop"

"They could be serious" said Michael with a raised brow

"Yeah right, and Allen is gay. Whatever Michael, bye"

"Wait, what?!" I heard Michael and Beatrice yell.

I swing my bag over my shoulder and dashed out of there faster than a bullet before Allen could have a chance to rip me apart.

I ran to Class A and waited patiently by the door frame for Richie like I always do.

The people in her class were used to this and greeted me as usual.

"Hey Grandma" I called the short blonde.

Fifi smiled at me "You're still the only person that calls me that"

"Yeah, cuz Gramma's are the only ones that have enough intimidation to enforce. Granny's are enforcers!" I cried out.

Fifi laughed and left after giving me a can of Sprite.

"Thanks Grandma"

I looked up to see Richie staring at the drink I had just received.

I knew Richie was a foodie, so I let her have it.

"I love you baby" she cooed and hugged me.

I chuckled and my eyes wandered looking for a certain someone. Finally, our eyes met and I winked at him.

I turned to Richie and smiled "I love you too, baby"

~~~
Sam's POV*******
I was clearing my locker, when I heard a very familiar voice yell "Gramma!"
Gramma? We had a Gramma in the class?
I was shocked when I say Fifi smiling and laughing with cat girl.
She was so weird. How could she call Fifi a Gramma?! What gave her that idea?!
I continued packing my books when I saw Fifi give her a can of Sprite.
Good for her
Before I could turn away, I saw her give the drink to Richie.
What? Why? Why would she do that?
Richie hugged her and squealed.
"I love you, baby"
I saw her eyes wandering around as though looking for someone.
I turned to look away but I struggled and fought with myself.
Just one look. It wouldn't hurt. Just one. Just... One... Look...
My eyes met hers and I got lost deep into her dark orbs. God, she was so pretty.
I couldn't deny it. She was beautiful.
I wanted to wave but she suddenly winked at me.
Oh my Goodness. Did she just do that? No wait, maybe there was something in her eye. Yeah, maybe.
I blinked as my face reddened, still refusing to turn away.
She turned to Richie and smiled sweetly "I love you too, baby"
And suddenly, my thoughts were all over the place. I suddenly wanted to be in Richie's place, even though I hate hugs and all contact with human life forms.
I wanted to be the one hearing those words. I wanted to feel her presence, next to me. I wanted her to hold me, to hug me, to...
What the Fudge?! What is this feeling?! Why is my heart beating so fast?! Why am I feeling this?
Did she cast a spell on me?!
I never should have listened to myself when I said 'Just one look'
What is happening to me?
