Dominick's POV

Luna and I arrived at the mansion hand in hand the next morning. As soon as Elta heard our voices, she rushed out to see us.

"Dominick, you're back. I've been waiting for you. My mom is awake and asking for you," she sighed in relief.

I nodded, pecked Luna on the cheek, and followed Elta inside.

"How are you? Are you feeling better?" I wrapped my arm around Elta's shoulders as we walked.

"I'm alright, Dom. I'm just glad mom is better now." She smiled and opened the door, ushering me inside.

Elle was sitting up in bed, drinking hot coffee. "You're here," she smiled faintly, pointing to the seat beside her.

"What happened, Elle? Why didn't you tell me about this?" I asked, taking a seat and glancing up at her.

She drew a sharp breath, pushing strands of hair from her face. "I didn't want to bother you... you had your own problems."

"Still.. he could have killed you if Elta hadn't told me in time."
