Nevermore - II

'What happened to you?'

"Leave," she raised her voice, it trembled, a command, laced with desperation, emotions I could not comprehend, that ripped through the storming thoughts of my mind.

A thousand reasons, questions, everything I had constructed, crumbled to dust.

Her gaze held mine as if I had not abandoned, but drowned her in the river with my very two hands―as if I could desire nothing more than her demise.

.

.

She silently stared at me, her gaze a cold, emotionless abyss before she replied with frost in her words, "I would rather die."

And I knew she meant it.

Her rage, her sorrow, and her hatred were etched somewhere deep in my heart.
