Downtime

The group finished eating their breakfast. And sat down in the living room.

Joe-"Hey Julius, what is this big square?"

Joe points to a black square sitting up on a shelf in front of them.

Julius-"It's called a tv, when I was making all the rooms I added one in, at a point I wasn't really paying attention to everything I was making"

Marigold-"The structural integrity is good though right?"

Julius-"Yeah I did all that first"

Joe-"What does the tv do?"

Julius-"It plays videos, shows, and movies"

Adam-"What are videos and movies"

Julius-"It's those things you see on the phones I gave you"

Joe-"What movies do you have on the tv"

Julius-"Oh uh... I don't have any"

Damion-"Why did you make the tv if you can't use it?"

Julius-"Well, I made the tv by accident. And to have something to watch I would have to remake some movies, which I could do from memory"

Marigold-"You've already done so much stuff for us. You don't need to go through the trouble of making those movies"

Julius-"It wouldn't be that difficult, it's alright"

Joe-"I kind of want to play some card games"

Elise-"What about some dodge ball?"

Adam-"I don't think we have enough room for dodgeball"

Julius-"Well I'll make some activities for us to do"

Julius creates dvd copies of some of his favorite movies. He also makes a stack of uno cards for them to use after he explained the rules. Finally while he didn't have enough room in the house for dodgeball, he made a table tennis game. Over the course of the rest of the day, the group watched movies and played card games. Adam and Elise played table tennis for over an hour having to replace the ball multiple times because they kept breaking it. Multiple hours have gone by with each member of the group doing different tasks. It is starting to become dark outside and the group finished eating dinner. Now they are once again sitting in the living room.

Marigold-"The towns people still haven't woken up, I'm worried about them"

Adam-"Yeah, me too. I can tell the townspeople who are awake are getting more restless by the day. They keep looking through our windows to see what we are doing"

Elise-"I'm thinking the big fancy house was a mistake"

Julius-"Yeah, making a big fancy place to stay here while we wait for them to wake up. I'm worried now it makes it seem like we're insensitive"

Damion-"Yeah they probably see it that way"

Julius-"Once all of this is done, I'll go and upgrade their houses to make it fair"

Adam-"Do you think they want their houses upgraded?"

Julius-"Well only if they want me to"

Marigold-"How long are we going to wait for them to wake up?"

Julius-"If none of them wake up by the end of the month, I'll go and start using my stamina recovery skill"

Adam-"But you know they won't trust you waking them up"

Julius-"I can't just leave them like that"

Marigold-"That one healing mage came to town recently. They agreed that the people would be woken up by a simple stamina recovery skill"

Elise-"They also said it would be better to let them wake up on their own"

Julius-"Yeah, the stamina recovery skill is meant to make up a full eight hours of sleep. Waking up from this however requires far more than just eight hours. So your body won't be fully recovered when you get forced awake"

Joe-"That kind of makes me worried if it will have negative side effects on us"

Julius-"Well there- it will be fine"

Joe-"What?"

Julius-"I said it will be fine"

Joe-"That wasn't what you were going to say"

Julius-"It's just minor brain damage. I'll be able to heal it up"

Elise-"Can you heal it now?"

Julius-"Well, it will appear eventually not right away. I could preemptively heal it now, but that would require me to float around inside your brain to find any abnormalities. I'm not sure if you'd want me to do that"

Elise-"Right, I forgot you could do that"

Damion-"You did that when you fought against that one ninja that was trying to capture me right?"

Julius-"Yeah, although it would obviously be different"

Marigold-"You went inside of a person's brain?"

Julius-"Well I- yeah"

Julius(in his head)-"You guys keep making me look bad in front of Marigold. Why do you keep doing this!?"

Julius-"They were attacking me and Damion so I knocked them out, they were fine afterwards they woke up after about an hour"

Marigold-"Are you sure they were alright?"

Julius-"We ended up fighting them a second time that same day. So yeah they were fine"

Elise-"Yeah it was that teleporting ninja I fought"

Marigold-"Is having to fight people a common thing that happens in your group?"

Adam-"It's been happening this past week a lot. Normally it's fighting monsters as adventurers. We just want to help people and recently that required fighting other people"

Marigold-"Well, I can say Lucious definitely deserved it"

Joe-"Wait, you said by the end of the month if nobody wakes up you'll wake them up with your skill. Wouldn't that also give them brain damage that you will have to fix"

Julius-"I'll probably have to stay here and help them when it gets to that point"

Marigold-"I appreciate the sentiment, but I wouldn't want you to go through all that trouble. Especially if the damage may appear years down the line"

Voice-"Also that would probably just make it suspicious if you start staying here. The people who woke up remembering what Lucious did to them might find it strange that you also started staying in the town right after showing up"

Julius(in his head)-"How would they find that suspicious?"

Voice-"They might not be trusting of people for a while. There's also the simple fact that you wouldn't want to stay here all that time"

Julius(in his head)-"What do you mean? I would like to stay here and help these people"

Voice-"There are many more people out there who also need your help, some even more than these people"

Damion-"I hope they wake up soon, I like moving around going on quests"

Joe-"You haven't gone on a quest yet"

Damion-"No, but I'd like to"

Adam-"Well it's gotten late, we can all go to bed and hopefully the people will wake up soon"

The group heads off to bed.

Julius(in his head)-"Well sleeping didn't work out too well, so what should I do tonight"

Voice-"Do you regret not sleeping?"

Julius(in his head)-"Honestly not needing to sleep is a pretty useful ability. It gives me a lot more free time"

Voice-"Well the most productive use of your time would be to try unlocking new skills. But another option would be flying around town to see what the towns people are saying about you and your friends"

Julius(in his head)-"I could do both, we at least have tonight but we'll likely have longer"

While the group goes to their beds, Julius flies around town. The group repeats this routine over the coming days waiting for the towns people to wake up.
