RING RING....
"Haa...."
A sudden ring of the phone made Vijay come out of his dreamland he woke up and looked around trying to find his phone...
"Hello, who is it...."
Right now Vijay was sleeping on his bed with no care in the world...
"Why didn't you answer my texts..."
Suddenly a girl's voice came from the phone, and Vijay started to recall whose voice this was...
"Oh, you're the government detective... Right, why did you call me...."
"Well, it's good you recall my name... So did you recall that from now on you are going to work with me solving the mystery of the cases..."
Suddenly Vijay started to recall his and the detective's conversation that happened in the cafe...
"Oh, yeah, I recall. So what? What do you want me to do...."
"What do you mean? You should be here in the office. It should be your first day at work. Do you know how difficult it was to approve your application letter, and you are also not taking this seriously..."
An angry voice came from the phone, scolding Vijay...
"Well, it can't be helped. No one told me about the timing..."
Vijay answered the voice in his signature playful tone...
"Yeah, that's what you think. Open your messages, and you will see how many times I have tried to call you..."
Hearing her, Vijay looked at his phone and saw 90+ messages...
"Oh, it seems I had put my phone into silent mode. That's why I didn't see your messages..."
"What do you mean silent... We don't have much time. Come to the address I had sent you on your phone fast..."
"Oh, okay. Don't get so hyped up, lady... It can't help it... How am I going to know that you were missing me so much that you had sent more than 90 messages to me..."
Vijay said in a sarcastic voice...
...
"It's a nice day, isn't it... Well, I'm no author or storyteller, so I'll leave it to the author to describe the weather..."
Right now, Vijay was walking on a busy street. The weather was clear, and it was mid-spring. The sun was in the sky, shining with all its might, spreading its glow all over the city. The busy street was full of the noise of people and cars. Though the sun was showing its supreme glow, the weather was not very hot at the moment...
Well, it's too late for my introduction to you all, but let's get to know each other anyway...
As you might know, if you've been reading until now, my name is Vijay. Though many people will ask for my surname, let me tell you I don't have one... From the time I came into this world until now, I didn't know who my mom and dad were... Nor did I try to find out... I was an orphan... Until a guy took me in and named me Vijay... At first, I lived in New Delhi, a very busy place filled with many different types of people, some were good, some were friendly, and some were not so friendly...
The person who took me in had some kind of grudge against another party there, so he and I moved out of Delhi and later left India and came to London... From there, we moved to different places and learned different things. My uncle was an ex-military person, so I was able to learn many different things from him...
Until one day, he passed away from old age... and after that, I didn't know what to do... I was 7 by then, and I was on the move in the cold streets of London until someone found me...
A guy with a black suit approached me and gave his hand to me... He didn't say anything, but it was enough for me as a child to understand what that hand meant as I took his hand and walked with him...
... What do you want to know? Everything? Na na, if I told you everything now, what would be the fun then... Hehehehe...
As I walked towards the address sent to me on my phone, I saw many kids running here and there without a care in the world. I didn't give them much attention and walked past them, coming near an old-looking building...
"Is this the right address..."
I thought to myself. The building was old, not very wide but very tall. I walked towards the gate and saw a person sleeping there who looked like a guard to me...
I looked at the guard for a little while then walked past him inside the building. The inside was no better than the outside, though there were white tiles on the floor and ceiling, some of them were broken into pieces...
I walked, hiding my fear that this place might collapse on me someday. I walked inside the nearest room and saw two guys sitting on chairs near a big blackboard, drinking their tea and laughing while talking about some rubbish...
"You know Sara's mother was scolding her because she broke the glass. Though I should be angry at her too, when she was sad, she was making a very cute sad face... No matter how much I tried, I wasn't able to turn my face into an angry one..."
"Yeah, dude, your daughter is really cute. What is her age again? I forgot, I think 8, I guess..."
"She is 9 now. Did you forget her birthday, which happened two months ago? I even gave a party to all of you for that..."
"Oh, I thought it was her 8th birthday. Kids these days are sure growing fast... Hahahahah... Hey, look who is he..."
Suddenly, both of them turned towards me and looked at me with a frown in their eyes...
"Oh, continue, I was just having fun listening to your conversation... And also, I was called here by Ms. Government Detective... Aaaa what was her name again... The one with blond hair and big eyes..."
I said to them, and both of them looked at each other and then fixed their gaze on me...
"Oh, so you are the one who had been recruited by Madam Alice..."
The guy on the left spoke to me, and in response, I nodded my head...
"Hahahahha... That's good. And what's with Ms. Government Detective... Hahaha, I never saw anyone calling her like that..."
"Yeah, you are right... Hahahaha...."
And then suddenly, both of them started to laugh, and I looked at them with a dumb look...
"So, you came, huh..."
"Ma'am, good morning, ma'am..."
Suddenly, I heard a very familiar girl's voice coming from behind me. As I saw the two guys who were chatting with each other with a happy smile on their faces stand up and show respect with a serious face, I knew it was her, so I turned around and saw a very beautiful blond-haired girl standing in front of me, watching me with sharp eyes...
"It's good that you were able to get time to see your phone and were able to come here..."
She spoke to me in a sarcastic voice, but with her lack of emotions in her face, the conversation seemed less sarcastic...
"Well, can't help it when you were missing me so much... It's not like I am so bad that I would make a lady wait, would I..."
I spoke while shaking my head. The room was silent; no one tried to utter a word. I could feel the other two gazes locked on me as if saying 'He's a dead meat now'... But I didn't look behind and just focused my eyes on the blond-haired girl in front of me...
"Come with me... We don't have much time to waste here in your baseless chatting..."
She said in an icy cold voice as she walked outside of the room, and I decided to follow her behind. I didn't say anything because I could feel a deadly aura coming from her...
The last thing I would want is to be stabbed to death by a girl on my first day of work here...
"Damn, that guy has balls of steel..."
"Yeah, you are right. I never saw anyone talk to Madam like that... That guy is something..."
Both of them looked at each other shook their heads and got back to their talk...
...
As I walked through the hall of this rundown building, I saw many people working together well, but the problem was all of them were old people, well not that old, but you see they were probably close to 40 or even some were 50 too...
What is this place, an old people's health and care organization... I thought to myself as I saw them handling their jobs...
"Come inside..."
I heard the detective's voice and saw her entering a room, and without much wait, I too entered the room and saw one more person sitting near a computer typing something...
"Oh, you are here, ma'am... And he must be the guy you were talking about..."
The guy looked in his mid-thirties as he turned around and looked towards us...
"Yes, he is... Is everything ready..."
"Yes, it is..."
The guy said, looking towards the detective and then turned towards me...
"Hey, come here, I need your biodata to fill your letter..."
He said to me, and I looked towards Ms. Detective as if asking 'How is he?'
"His name is Adam Davies... And he is our best hacker here..."
As if sensing what I was thinking, she answered my question, and I turned around and saw the guy smiling...
"Come on, it's not like I am going to eat you or anything... hahaha..."
Adam said while laughing, and for some reason, I felt creepy. After all, I was not in the guy's and if some guy who is in his mid-thirties smiles towards you and says I am not going to eat you, anyone would feel creepy...
"Go fast; we don't have much time... In our hand..."
Ms. Detective spoke to me, looking at me with sharp eyes, and I shook my head and walked towards the table...
"Here, put your finger and your eyes here..."
The guy spoke to me with a smile while holding my hand, and I shuddered for some reason, feeling his hand on my palm...
After completing the biodata, I signed some papers that were presented in front of me after reading them thoroughly. After reading them, I didn't find any wrong thing or some kind of loophole in the contract which stated that the one who had made this contract was a very intelligent person...
"Well, with this, you are now one of us... Welcome to the team, dude..."
The guy spoke with a smile and held my hand, and I hurriedly shook off his hand from my palm...
"Okay, now come with me; I'll introduce you to everyone..."
I heard the detective's voice and stood up and left with her as fast as I could... I don't want to stay with this guy for more than a second also...
"Ahh, these days, kids don't even know how to thank properly. Though I think he was a shy one, hahahahaha..."
Adam laughed to himself and then started to do his work again...
