Chapter 7, Sparkling Idea

A few minutes passed as Kefir paddled his way before landing at last; hopping off the boat, slushies vibrating as he stepped away from the fleshy mess of the fragments of the 'sea',

The location where he landed was a poor choice since he had to climb his way upwards to where the gigantic bell and the gates were and the edges of the various rocks bulging out from the cliff seemed pretty unstable for his liking.

'Papa… I think you made a poor choice on landing here, but it's ok! I support you and your ummm wise ways!' The voice cheered huskily, however its choice of words made Kefir worse, leaving him annoyed.

"I appreciate the kind words but this is my choice and I don't want to spend another damn worth of hours, dragging my ass to somewhere else on this land. Also if you haven't noticed the bottom of the ship is starting to have some cracks, from the obvious constant collision with the… flesh that was underneath the boat.." clenching his fist, he knew the parasite wanted to be nice but would have been more preferable if it stayed silent.

Clenching on tightly on the budging stones of the small cliff, he made his ascend upwards, carefully trailing each of his steps, though there were occasional fumbles, Kefir made no comment, gripping on tightly. Determined to reach the top.

A few minutes passed and the small cracked watch on his wrist chimed 5:00 PM. In that same timeframe he also finally got to the top, breathing a little heavily, glancing at the wrist on his watch.

Unfortunately he couldn't remember any faint memories on how he received the watch but he did appreciate knowing what the time was for this damned place, understandable the clock probably didn't match the same timezone as this isolated dystopia but it didn't stop him from smiling a bit.

A warm feeling mixed with a sad melody enveloping his heart, turning his head up and slapping his cheeks, this wasn't the time to think about this. He shouldn't waste time.

Pushing himself up and trampling upon the large silver bell that overshadowed him with its glory and prominence. He read the labeled sign next to it. It wrote,

"As the eyes of the omniscience lay its prestige upon the prominent bell of Swurel, they who guard the relic of sound till the dawn of morning from the darkness shall be blessed with the entrance to the next stage."

Examining the sign, Kefir stood there expressionless, processing the information he read. He had to guard this bell for a whole, FUCKING DAY?! And guessing by darkness, it meant either from any unknown creatures that could lurk in the night or those shadowy creatures he met at the shoreline.

This was ridiculous, he was clearly at a disadvantage if it especially meant those shadowy creatures who could probably tear him into pieces. Also how the hell was he gonna do it with just a revolver that held 5 rounds.

Nerves popping from his head as he pulled on his hair in anger, Kefir clearly had some anger issues though he held it in well; releasing it on the bell through a heavy kick.

He sighed as he sat down on a bench that laid next to the bell, it looked like it was meant to be of some sort of cultural significance. Surprisingly enough, Kefir was rather not piqued in curiosity on the bell but rather the bench opposite to his bench, in the middle being the bell.

On the other bench beneath it, there was a small turned over ashtray with a box of matches next to it, mixed with some remains of ashes poured on the ground.

Leisurely making his way to the other bench, he picked up the box of matches; a little crumpled as he shoved the container open, revealing a few matches left.

Heaving once more, he dropped it on the bench, laying next to it in a thinking position.

"What am I gonna do in this situation? I could risk using my bullets, then again I would have a higher chance of dying in the further stages…. Shit." -he lightly tapped his head, his face in a grimacing expression.

This continued on till an idea popped into his mind, observing his area, there were a couple of trees though not much except just plains till it stopped at the walls with the gate.

"I don't have any other ideas to act on, but this might do.." he glanced at the leftover matches, later staring back at the few trees who trembled in fear for their beak future that would occur.
