To Meet Up

"Basically, people usually kill Epic-rank monsters to trigger their Epic awakening, thereby gaining an Epic Life Rune and breaking through to Epic-rank," Odar said while scratching the back of his bad as he looked at Riki, "But how did he break through?"

"Boss broke through because he didn't feel the need to prove himself nor did he lack any confidence about his future," Riki grinned. "His life source resonated with its evolution without any need for action."

"So this is Epic Life Rune, eh? But it just gave me a 20% boost in all of my stats. I thought it was going to be something awesome," Aleron ruefully smiled.

"20% boost in all stats? Wtf," Odar smacked his lips. "That's a peak Epic life rune, boss. You can't get a boost higher than this in Epic Life Rune."

"People need to kill tough Epic-rank monsters all alone to trigger Epic Awakening of this level to gain this big boost, but you…" Odar sighed while shaking his head as he added.

"Comparison is a door to doom. Door to doom indeed."

Odar and Riki went out to the southwest meadow of the island—named Hazed Sun Meadow by Darzax because it looked like a hazy sun from above. The resources in this area were of multiple attributes, but the majority of plants, flowers, trees, and such were of Fire-related attributes.

Riki wanted to do some Spiritblade Tuning, which was his specialty to empower his arsenal of blades with external powers. As such, he was using the resources of this meadow.

Meanwhile, Odar was fighting against Epic-rank monsters to trigger his Epic Awakening.

He died three times and was revived three times by Darzax, but Odar was determined to kill the strongest Epic rank monster and was honing his skills with Riki's training.

Darzax was overseeing the Zombies, Ghouls, Vampires, and Werewolves as they collected the resources from the island.

Death Lords had killed Legendary-rank monsters upon Darzax's order, but there were still plenty of Epic-rank and below monsters on the island that needed to be hunted to extract resources.

As such, Death Lords acted as the guards to the working population and protected them from monsters to increase the efficiency of work.

The night passed by with everyone busy and Aleron sleeping.

As the morning shone and Aleron yawned with a peaceful expression while stretching his arms, the second day of his new life in this world began.

Darzax, Riki, and Aleron sat in the garden pavilion as the breakfast arrived at the hands of the high-vampire Borai, the former top chef of the royal palace and also an Epic-rank powerhouse.

"My lord. This kingdom doesn't have resources to concoct pills that can increase your stats in Epic rank, but this island has plenty," Darzax smiled. "A batch of Epic-rank growth pills will be ready after five hours."

"Great," Aleron said with a chuckle, "After breakfast, we'll go and give Rias my yes to her partnership."

"As you wish, my lord."

"How's Odar doing?" Aleron asked.

"He died fifteen times and was mind-broken for a bit," Riki said with a laugh. "But he defeated the Epic-rank monster and triggered his Epic Awakening an hour ago, attaining a peak Epic Life Rune like you."

"Now he is sleeping due to utter exhaustion of his mind and body," Darzax wryly smiled. "He pushed himself too much."

"Not bad, he is working hard," Aleron said with a laugh.

Aleron, Darzax, and Riki appeared at the center of a giant crater where the necropolis was previously located.

Since the secret realm's door was always attached to Aleron, it was portable along with the necropolis.

The trio flew towards Duke Rahad's city to meet up with Rias the group arrived there within a couple of minutes with Darzax's Shadow Drift spell.
