Update

(Normal POV)

The next five days weren't really worth talking about to be honest as there was nothing new in that time but the same wake up, hunt the next three floors, return and repeat. I also kept Hestia up to date on my progress and had already made it clear that I was way overdue for an update. She was reluctant to agree but after hearing me nag at her about it for five days in a row she caved to the inevitability of it. She understood that at some point I would NEED to get updated but the memory of the backlash I suffered during the war game still haunted her.-

If it was any other thing I might leave it alone so she could come to terms with it on her own but I needed my falna to update in order to continue chasing my goal. I get it really I do. She was worried that my near death experience in which I unlocked RCT would be just as traumatic as the backlash from the war game but I knew for a fact it wouldn't.-

Even my first hand experience of it wasn't really that bad as it was mostly just a lot of panic on my part and what the gods experience through updating the falna is dramatically muted by comparison. Anyways during the last five days I had collected plenty of materials to last me a good while so long as none of my projects exceeded a certain size. I hadn't gotten the materials from the variant lizardman so I could only settle for green dragon parts for the upgraded magic stone converters I had planned. With my goal accomplished I set off for the surface and made it back without any issue at all.-

On the way back to the manor I stopped by the hostess to drop off the battle boar meat I had promised before I entered the dungeon which had the girls working there looking at it with extreme curiosity. Syr was no different as she too couldn't help but be curious if I was just making things up when I described how good the stuff tasted. What they did with the meat after that was none of my business as I left after my delivery. When I approached the gate to the manor I saw Hestia waiting with a relieved look and a gentle smile welcoming me home.-

"What not going to ask how my trip was?" I asked with a teasing smile.

She rolled her eyes "We talked literally everyday you were down there." she pointed out.

"I know that. It just feels like this whole scene is incomplete without that classic dialogue though, probably just me." I said with a shrug.

"You are going to put up the materials before coming for your update aren't you?" she asked a little reluctantly.

I sighed "You really need to let that one bad experience go, when you leveled me up there wasn't an issue and even now there won't be one. I promise." I said softly.

"How can you say that so confidently? How could you possibly know what it's like to feel what we gods do? All our children's suffering and struggle?" she demanded with eyes that were tearing up.

"You don't get the full experience but a second hand muted version. If I think that my experience wasn't that bad then why would it be for you?" I asked and she didn't have answer for that.

"Besides I promised and we both know I don't break those so chin up you hear?" I said with a smile while wiping away her tears.

"Okay!" she said putting on her brightest smile even if her eyes were a bit red still.

I walked into my workshop after that and started to put all the materials in their respective spots with the level four materials in one chest the stones in another and the other materials in their own designated chests. The Goliath magic stone was placed in a stone converter to be emptied of mana slowly before took off my armor and weapon to be replaced by a casual set of clothes minus the shirt that I carried with me to Hestia's room where she waited to update my falna.-

She was siting on the edge of her bed when I arrived and wordlessly presented my back to her. She pricked her finger with a needle and a drop of her blood fell upon my back causing a bright light to erupt as my falna was unlocked and the accumulated excelia and smoke I had collected surged. My entire body felt warm and I could feel the tension in her legs straddling my back relax when she truly wasn't all that effected by my experiences being felt second hand.-

The bright light show continued for a good minute before the warmth in my body faded.

"You have a new skill and both of your developmental skills raised a rank." she said as she copied my new status on a sheet of paper and got off me.
