"Hmmm, I suppose I can see the logic in that. Still aren't we rather over dressed for this?" she asked.
I chuckled "Says the person whose casual clothes cost more than most small familia make in a year." I teased.
"It's not THAT bad! Besides it's not my fault comfortable clothes tend to also be expensive." she said with a cute pout.
I shrug "You can have comfort without your clothes being made of imported silks and master crafted tailoring." I point out and she looked away with an embarrassed expression.
I grin at winning this discussion as we walk through the bazar occasionally stopping at a booth to look over the wares being displayed. Most of it was either things made by small familias or second hand goods that were being resold now that they weren't useful anymore. I stopped at one booth however as I saw something that caught my eye, a draconite.-
"Where'd you get this from?" I asked the bored looking guy sitting behind the booth after dropping the enchantment on our clothes.
"What? Sorry I didn't notice you there somehow. What did you say?" he asked with a confused look.
"This, where did you get it?" I asked tapping the draconite with my finger.
"Ah the draconite! Got lucky while delving recently and came across an infant dragon that dropped that after I killed it. Things bloody useless though as nobody can do anything with it. You can have it for five thousand valis." the guy said casually.
"I'll take it." I said fishing out the money from my bag before handing it over and grabbing the small pea sized stone and activating our clothes enchantment as we walked away.
"Can you even use that stuff?" Freya asked curiously as I put the stone away in my bag.
"Not at the moment, pretty sure it's a level seven or higher material and my limit is the start of six right now. Still I will definitely be able to do so eventually and it will have been worth it to stock up before hand." I said honestly.
Draconite was ridiculously rare due to how it was created and ignored by most adventurers even when it dropped. Even while being pretty much worthless since it couldn't be used for anything I was willing to snap up any samples of it I could for when the time came that I could use my cursed technique to mold it.-
"A widely considered indestructible material being use to make weaponry or heavens forbid armor, I shudder at the thought." she said not even exaggerating as she genuinely looked unsettled by the idea.
Not that she could be blamed since the implications were really that big. Draconite couldn't so much as be scratched by even Ottar so if it were turned into armor it would upset the balance of things drastically. For one it would never need to be repaired and second it meant in theory even a normal person could survive getting hit by Ottar.-
In that context it's not that bad but what if you gave the armor to say a level six instead? Right now Ottar sat at the top of the city as an almost untouchable force since he hit that much harder than the level sixes and thus they had little hope of wearing him down and thus defeating him. That would change however if they had an armor set that all but neutralized his damage output as then it would become a matter of whether he could outlast them or rip the armor off of them as no armor was completely without weakness.-
You can bet that Loki would be quite eager to pull Freya off her throne if she could so this was a serious concern for Freya. Or it would be if I had any intention of sharing my draconite equipment with everyone else. Nah this stuffs gonna be for my familia alone and I was more than willing to fight others to keep it that way. Anyways back on our date Freya stopped at various snack booths or foreign imported ones.-
"You do know we are going to eat later right?" I asked as she happily nommed on a honied butter bun.
"Can you blame me for trying all these interesting treats? Whenever Ottar or one of the others bring me these things they are cold and not fresh anymore. It's so much better now compared to then." she said unrepentant.
I chuckled "Can't say you are wrong but I hope you don't spoil your dinner by filling up on snacks." I said and she just hummed.
It was at this point I felt a slight tug at my waist and my hand snapped out like a whip to grab the arm of the thief currently holding my bag.
The persons eyes darkened and they slashed out with a dagger in their free hand but I didn't release them like they clearly expected me too. "SWIP!" a strange sound came out as the blade slid over my suits sleeve without cutting through it at all. I squeezed my hand hard and the thief screamed as I began to crush their bones in my vice like grip. This drew attention to us but literally everyone who saw what was happening understood what had happened after seeing us.-
"Looks like that thief chose the wrong mark." someone said.
"How did we not notice those two when they are in clothes like that?" another asked.
"Where is the Ganesha familia at?" someone questioned.
This and more was said by the gathering crowd as I waited for the aforementioned Ganesha familia to show up so I could hand over the thief. That familia was the sort of law enforcement group of the city after all so they were definitely here in the bazar somewhere and no doubt on their way. The thief clearly understood this and even in their agony from my grip they struggled fiercely to escape.-
At one point they even tried to stab me in the eye and I calmly deflected the blade with my free arm before throwing the thief to the ground and pressing down on them with my foot.
"They will suffocate to death if you keep pressing down on them so hard." Freya said with a worried expression.
I shook my head "I am leaving just enough give to let them breath but only barely." I said casually.
