CHAPTER 54 - Refuse To Die
The earthquake only lasted for some minutes, before something incredible took place. Tisane watched wide eyed as the entire flesh, bones and blood of the dead monsters on the field began to move as if by an unseen force.
They were all pulled towards a particular section of the field in front of Tisane. Pieces of flesh and bones began to merge together and pile up into a mountain of bulky meat.
It was quite a horrifying sight as the mountain of meat began to take a strange human form. Though this form was more monster than human, it featured powerful muscular arms and legs.
On it's head protruded various horns of different sizes. It's eyes a reddish gold hue shone like stars.
It's mouth displayed a disorderly arrangement of huge sharp rows of teeth. The aura it emitted was so pressurizing that the air itself became so heavy and thick that it felt like being submerged in an ocean of paste.
Tisane silently affirmed as he saw the monstrosity before him.
_''Finally, I have met the devil himself''_
He knew that this was the last chapter of this nightmarish reality of his. So therefore, he would give it his all.
He would fight to the last drop of his blood. Till he is swallowed up in death, he would not give this devil the satisfaction of an easy victory.
But as he watched the monstrous mountain before him, he couldn't help but lament within him.
_Why should such a creature exist in this world?_
_Why should the heavens abandon them to the fate of dying at the hands of such a monstrosity?_
At that point, Tisane felt the rage within him rise again in tumultuous degrees. His rage this time was not just directed at the monster alone, but also at the entire heavens for choosing to watch as this calamity befall them without any hope of help.
_{Now this is your last chance mortal. Surrender to me or die where you stand!}_
Tisane knew that there was no point in talking any further as he dashed at the mountainous monster for a last battle of death.
_{Impudence!!!}_
The monster stamped it's huge right foot as a large and terrifying sandstorm erupted and billowed at Tisane. Stamping both his feet on the ground, he shot himself high into the air as he was able to jump over the sandstorm.
Landing on the ground, Tisane dashed again at the monster, only to find himself facing another sandstorm. This time, it was so huge and large that he knew that trying to jump over it was pointless.
Immediately, the scorpion phantom that was projected in the sky through him, roared as it's blood red glow intensified. Tisane felt the power within him build up as he spun around simultaneously, releasing a huge curved vertical scarlet flash which was sent against the sandstorm.
_~Whoom!!~_
_~Bang!!~_
A wide passageway was formed as the scarlet flash clashed with the storm. Tisane didn't hesitate as he sped through the passageway and straight at the mountainous monster.
Stamping both his feet again, he was propelled in a red streak as he flew to the belly area of the monster. He immediately swung his sickled arm as a thick red flash struck the belly of the monster and tore out a large chunk of rotten meat.
_{How dare you?!!}_
Immediately, the monster struck out with it's left arm, which brought with it tumultuous waves of energy crashing towards Tisane whom was still in the air. The attack was so fast that Tisane was sent crashing down from the air.
_~Slam!~_
In a cloud of dust, Tisane fell heavily. As if that was not enough, another attack came as the monster struck out it's humongous right fist towards Tisane, which once again brought with it waves of energy crashing down.
Tisane immediately felt the terrifying pressure of the attack as he did all he could to block the attack but was still sent flying as his defense crumbled instantly. The mountainous monster was unrelenting as it kept releasing waves upon waves of attacks.
Tisane was totally hard pressed as he did his best to block and defend against the incoming Titanic attacks.
_~Blergh!!~_
Tisane felt his organs rupturing as he spat a mouthful of blood. He was beginning to feel weakness wash over him due to the insane pressure and attacks that were weighing down on him.
The mountainous monster was far more terrifying than he had thought. Suddenly, a huge beam of scarlet light from the monster's eyes struck him immediately, which sent him burrowing deep into the ground.
_{Hahaha. How does it feel to be helpless against absolute power?!!_
_{Up until now, you have tried by displaying your considerable prowess!!_
_{But at this point, you are one step away from experiencing gruesome and excruciating death!!_
_{Only if you accept to surrender, will you have a painless and quick death!!}_
_~Bam!~_
An arm busted out of the scorched ground, followed by a head and a full body as Tisane was seen pulling himself out of the ground while groaning painfully and laboriously. Part of his body was scorched black as he wheezed and panted.
_{So what is it going to be mortal?!!_
_{Do you surrender?!!}_
_Yes I do..._
Tisane was already at the point where he was about to affirm his surrender. The mountainous monster was just too terrifying for him to fight against.
Even till now, the pressure from the monster was still weighing down on him significantly that he found it very hard to move his limbs.
Such power....if only he had such power, it would have been enough to make this abominable monster regret what it had done to his family and friends.

_{Do you surrender?!!}_
_Ah if only you'll ask nicely....._
Tisane heard his bones make snapping noises as he stood up slowly. He looked up at the monster with a scowl on his face as he pointed with a stiff finger.
"Even if you kill me, you will always be an abomination. A blight of nature and a curse to this world.
"I only wished that God gave me enough power to obliterate a demon like you!!"
_{...}_
The mountainous monster froze it's actions and stared at Tisane for a while with murderous eyes, before it suddenly roared and unleashed a terrifying beam of scarlet heat from it's eyes, which was directed at Tisane.
_{Hmph It seems you have made your choice mortal!!!_
_{Then die!!!}_
Tisane saw the beam coming as he also felt it's horrifying heat crashing towards him. Without hesitation, the scorpion phantom that hovered above came down and formed a cyclone of energy around him as the monstrous beam slammed into the cyclone.
There was a noisy sizzling, which was followed by a loud squeal as the cyclone around Tisane began to slowly melt away. Tisane knew that his defense would soon crumble as he watched the scorpion phantom that was bent on protecting him fade away.
Tisane's heart bled for the creature that had stood with him through this fatal battle.
_I don't want to die_
_But my mortality compels me to accept the law of death._
_My mind refuses this law, but my body accepts it._
_I don't hate my body, for it is a part of me._
_But I denounce it...it's weakness...it's limitations._
_As for my mind, I hold on to it....it's tenacity....it's stubborn will._
The cyclone wall of defense that the scorpion phantom had set up, finally disintegrated as the phantom squealed in sorrow as it faded into nothingness, leaving Tisane exposed to the full might of the monster's scarlet beam. As the beam enveloped Tisane, he held his arms in an x position across his chest, while his eyes burned with great unwillingness.

_{When am done obliterating your body, I will take my time to savour the pleasant deliciousness of your soul hahaha!!!}_

A strange voice rang out across the entire landscape as the air itself slowed down in shock.
{...!!!}
_~Boom!!!~_
A large and terrifying aura spread out immediately as a huge pillar of light came from the sky and crashed down on the spot where Tisane was before he was enveloped by the monster's attack. Shortly after the pillar of light, a humanoid figure was seen floating in the midst of the light.
_{This.....this is not possible!!!}_
The monster voice sounded so agitated and greatly shocked as it spoke.
Tisane who was floating amidst the pillar of light, slowly opened his eyes as confusion became etched on his face.
_''Am alive?''_
He was still trying to make sense of what just happened when the monster's agitated voice interrupted his thoughts.
_{It can't be.....you can't be....so soon....how is that possible!!}_
The monster was making incoherent speeches due to its shock and befuddlement. Tisane ignored it's ramblings as he slowly descended to the ground.
He looked at the pillar of light that surrounded him like an impenetrable wall. It made him feel so safe and secure that it was like nothing could touch him.
He had never had this sense of invulnerability before, but he had it now and the feeling was strong that he subconsciously smiled.
But what kind of power was this?
Was this the act of God smiling down on him?
Whatever it was, Tisane was absolutely certain that this power would be enough to fully take on the mountainous monster.
