Chapter 5:The curse unfolds

[Narrative 1]

When he woke again, he wasn't in the street.

He was back in his cluttered apartment, but everything had changed. His body was lean—muscles taut beneath his skin. His reflection in the mirror revealed a stranger: sharp features, fierce eyes.

And then, reality crashed back.

Alice. His mother. The curse.

His journey had only just begun.

And Death was far from finished with him.

[Jackson's Narrative ]

I collapsed onto the ground out of exhaustion with the devourer of swords disappearing into my inventory. I woke up to find myself in my room how I managed to pull myself together to reach here, I don't remember. As I was thinking about this while facing the mirror, I suddenly realized the person in the mirror wasn't me and I jumped away.

I slowly crept up to the mirror and saw a different face looking at me. I realized that I had accepted a pop up about exchanging fat for power. That would explain how slim I had become, my clothes were a little bit more baggy.

I realized I looked quite handsome being slim, and that I could finally ask my childhood best friend in this new world "Alicia" out. Then it dawned on me the revelation that she had died last night.

No one knew what happened they had woken up to meet her body on the road. The doctors claim she had lost too much blood, but there were no wounds or cuts on her skin. Even in death she looked as flawless as ever.
