The ritual wasn't something I enjoyed doing, but it was necessary. I led Ji Ho to a secluded part of the underground complex, a chamber filled with glowing runes etched into the walls and floor. The air was thick with the scent of burnt herbs and something metallic—blood, maybe.

"Sit there," I instructed, pointing to a circle inscribed with ancient symbols. Ji Ho hesitated, eyeing the markings warily.

"This isn't some kind of trap, is it?" he asked, his voice laced with suspicion.

"If I wanted to trap you, I wouldn't go through all this trouble," I replied, rolling my eyes. "Now sit. The longer we wait, the harder it will be to contain the beast."

Reluctantly, Ji Ho stepped into the circle and sat cross-legged in the center. I began chanting in a language long forgotten by most, the words resonating in the chamber like a haunting melody. The runes began to glow brighter, casting eerie shadows on the walls.
