Ming's Decision

"In fact everyone that I have met so far is at fault... But don't worry,I'll get revenge on all of you. Especially you Ming I'll save you for last. Your punishment would be to watch as I slowly take Davis away from you" she said and a wicked smile curled up her face amidst her teary eyes and that gave her a psychotic look.

She walked back home. She preferred to do so, so she could have more time to run her thoughts round different ways to carry out her revenge scheme.

NEXT DAY,

Davis woke up to the intensity of the sun shining through his curtains, he slowly opened his eyes and saw Ming, leaning by his drawer and holding a glass of water. "Rise and shine sleeping beauty" she said.

Davis groaned sluggishly, "Gosh my head is spinning" he muttered.

"Next time you would listen to your doctor's advice, when she says you should only take a small sip, of whatever is inside an ominous looking vile" Ming said and stretched the glass of water in her hand to Davis and he took it.

"As I recall correctly you said that you're a healer not a doctor" Davis said and was about to drink the water but he paused and looked at it suspiciously. "What is this?" he asked cautiously, he wanted to be sure he wasn't going to get drunk again.

"It's just plain water D; specifically from your tap" Ming said, then he slowly drank it.

After he finished drinking the water, he tried to go back to sleep, but it wasn't working. His eyes were fully awake, but his legs were still asleep. Ming stared at a blank wall for a while as what Rita had said to her the previous night, about Davis still being in love with her, played in her mind continuously.

Davis noticed her countenance; "if you are worried about my leg then it's fine, I can't even feel any single pain from it any more" Davis said trying to sound reassuring.

"I'm not worried about your leg, I mean I am of course... Huh, are you still in love with Rita?" She finally managed to ask.

Davis was quiet for a long time, he thought of a lot of replies, but of all of them the only one he found most appropriate was "No" he muttered simply.

"She was here yesterday, and she said..." Ming was saying but Davis interrupted her.

"I don't give a damn about what Rita says!" he said almost fiercely. "And neither should you" he added, this time with a more pleasant tone.

"Let's get married this week" Ming blurted out blindly, thinking only about herself at this moment, and about how she doesn't want to lose Davis to anyone, especially not to Rita. Maybe she doesn't love him entirely, but there is no denying that she's definitely starting to enjoy his presence. But most importantly, there's a lot that they would both benefit from if they get married. And she doesn't plan to lose any of that to anyone. She thought with a picture of Rita painted in her head, and displayed in HD.

Davis was speechless. He always thought that if anyone was going to bring up the topic of their marriage date it would be him. "You wanna get married all of a sudden, you definitely have a reason for that. Do you Care to share it?" Davis asked.

"If at the end we would still get married, then clearly delay won't do us any good. We would only be postponing all the benefits we could get" Ming said.

She was right, even though he could tell that, that wasn't her real reason. "....." Before Davis could say anything his phone rang, it was a message from Mr Robert, his butler telling him that; his grandfather, Grandpa Chen, wanted him to join him for breakfast.

"Grandpa Chen wants me to join him for breakfast. You could come if you want" Davis said to her.

"No thanks I better get back home by the way" she said then picked up her phone to call Simon to pick her up.

"We'll talk more about the marriage topic later," Davis said and kissed her on the cheek. She just smiled in response, then left.

*****

Davis called Mr Roland to give him a ride to his grandfather's house, that is the Chen's manor... When he got there he walked in without knocking. He got to the dining table and saw everyone sitting in the same spot as the last time he was here. It was a long rectangular table, Ursula was seated by the right, Brendon and Jude were by the left, while grandpa Chen was at the edge. And just like before, he had saved a seat close to himself for Davis.

Ursula stood up and hugged him. "Darling it has been so long, you don't even stop by at my boutique to visit anymore... Grandpa told me about Ming. Where is she? Is she pretty? Are you two married yet?" Ursula bombarded him with questions, while talking really quickly.

"Go easy on him, Ursula, let him eat something before you start questioning him," grandpa Chen said and motioned for Davis to sit close to him.

"It's not my fault that I ask so many questions, I'm a curious person and you know that," Ursula said and sulked as she went back to sit down.

"Yes we know that about you Ursula, and that's one of your many characteristics we love you for" Grandpa Chen said then she smiled and stopped sulking.

Mr Roland had told him that Grandpa Chen was always nice towards his family members. That was true but. Davis was surprised how he could manage it. He had heard him talk on the phone with someone he wasn't related to, and how strict and husky his voice sounded. He wondered how he sounded so different while he was talking to them. It made Davis more suspicious of him rather than fascinated.

Davis sat down beside his grandfather. "Hey Brendon, I heard that you and Jude wanted to sell the enterprise, how's that going for you?" Davis asked, trying to start up a conversation with his half brothers he knows aren't fond of him.

He got only silence and a glazing glare as feedback. He got the message loud and clear. They don't wanna be chatty with him.

"Jude stop glaring at him like that, you are just doing it because Brendon's doing it" Ursula said nonchalantly, with a pinch of her nagging tone involved.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Jude asked.

"It means that you do everything that Brendon does. Come on man you've got to think for yourself sometime" she replied even more nonchalantly than before.

"Look I'm not one of your dumb workers or your brainless mannequin so you can't just talk to me that way" Jude said.

Davis found their bickering intriguing, at least he got to see some reaction from Jude. But Brendon is always silent and euphemistic around him, so it's hard to tell what he's thinking. And the dark persona his brown eyes give him doesn't make him have a friendly look.

Grandpa Chen wasn't interested in anything going on in the dining as much as he was interested in his meal... After he was done with eating, he turned and faced Davis.

"Davis, I have a business meeting in China tomorrow, and I want you to come with me. You could learn a thing or two about the company before you inherit it all" Grandpa Chen said while cleaning his hand with napkins even though they weren't dirty.

"I would love to, but that would mean that I would miss my classes," Davis said.

"Darling, you're being offered the opportunity to travel to another country, and you're worried about missing your classes," Ursula said.

"Yes I happen to care about classes" Davis said defensively.

"You really are an odd fellow" Ursula muttered...

"If you're concerned so much about your classes, then I can make it so that nothing is taught while we are away, or everything that is taught could be recorded specially for you, or maybe I could buy the entire university" Grandpa Chen said listing out a lot of options for Davis.

"I think I prefer having everything recorded, as the best option for me," Davis said.

We would be leaving today so let me leave you be, so you can have enough time to prepare. And when you're ready meet me at the airport, I would have my private jet waiting for us there" grandpa Chen said

Davis just nodded, 'of course he has a private jet' Davis thought...

And just as grandpa Chen had said, he dismissed Davis after he was done with eating so that he could have enough time to prepare for his trip to China... After Davis left his house he was walking towards his dorm, but then he passed through the Lee's mansion where Ming and her grandfather lived. He decided to go in.

He approached the huge door and rang the doorbell, but no one answered it; he rang it a few more times but still no one answered it... He opened the door surprisingly it was opened and he walked inside.

He admired the place, it wasn't in any way as big as the Chen's manor but it was more decorated with a lot of decorations, Chinese no doubt. There were handmade vases by the sides of the door, and some tiny buddhist statues on the table, and much more...

The house seemed empty, "Hello" he called out, but no reply. "Is anyone in here" he said but still got no reply. He wandered around opening every single door one by one. Then he reached a door he didn't know was the door to Ming's room, he barged inside and saw Ming dressing.

Her first reaction was to throw a cloth over his face, and to yell "bastard!"

Davis instantly turned around but not before seeing some part of her curves. "Sorry I didn't think that you would be here" Davis said.

"This is my room, who did you think would be in here?" Ming said and quickly wore her clothes. She had just come out from the bathroom so her hair was still dripping wet. "You can turn around now," she added.

"In my defence I didn't know that this was your room, I didn't even know that any one was home" he said defensively.

"Then you're a burglar" she said

"What?" Davis muttered, not sure of what he heard.

"You thought no one was home and you decided to come in, that's what a burglar does" Ming said.

"I'm not a burglar" Davis said firmly, he hates being called a thief of any sort. If it was anyone other than Ming who had accused him of being a burglar he would have definitely snapped.

"I know, I was just teasing you," she said mirthfully.

"My grandfather wants me to travel with him to China on his private jet. And I want you to come with me; we could even get married there, if you want" Davis said. He was pleased to see the smile on Ming's face.

"That definitely comes as a surprise but yes, I would love to go with you." She said and picked up a towel to dry her hair. "I have a surprise for you too," she said and gave Davis the documents.

"I hate surprises," Davis muttered.

"That's a shame, anyway I'm sure you would love this one. Go on take a look" she urged

Davis scanned through the documents; "these are the documents to the Chen's enterprises".

"Mm hmm; I heard someone was planning to buy it so I bought it before they could. But that's not the surprise, look at the name" Ming said and that's what he did.

"Davis Chen! You bought it for me?" Davis said in surprise.

"You're the one who wanted it," she said with a warm smile.

Davis was both grateful and captivated, that he leaned forward and crashed his lips on Ming. She responded, not sure of where any of this would lead...
