A dark night: Death Encroaches

YUN FAMILY RESIDENCE.

The sky was dim and dark on this particular night, not only was the weather chilling, but rain poured down from the heavens nonstop as little specks of lighting scattered above the clouds. Little droplets of rain leaked down slowly from the thatched roofs set up as support for the outdoor corridors of the Yun residence courtyard, giving an eerie feeling to the whole setting.

A puddle on the ground made from the leak in the roof abruptly got scattered from a stomp by a foot, owned by a man with unstable footsteps as he approached the room where Yun Tian was kept to waste.

Rumble!

Lighting flashed from the sky revealing the owner of the foot, who was none other than Yun Duyi himself, one could tell that he was obviously drunk from his body movement which looked a bit clumsy, though his eyes were visibly clear. On his left hand was a bronze dagger paired with a cup of wine in his right. Being careful not to make a sound, he controlled his steps firmly until he finally reached Yun Tian's door.

Gulp...!

With one single gulp, he downed all the contents of his cup before opening the door and approaching Yun Tian who was laying with open yet lifeless eyes on the bed.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Yun Tian could feel his heartbeat accelerate at an abnormal pace, and for some reason he felt as if death was slowly encroaching his door step. At first, he decided not to fight because he was willing to die, for there was nothing left for him anymore so he might as well just die. But something changed the moment the person got closer to his side, this was because he could tell without even wasting a single breath that this was his father.

"I'm sorry, but they made me do this."

Muttered Yun Duyi under his breath as he stretched the dagger upward, ready to make the kill.

"No! I must live, I can't die right now, not by this animal's hands, I must know the truth, I must get my revenge."

Thought Yun Tian with unimaginable fear, as he used his fist to smash Yun Duyi hard on the balls.

Ah...! Clang!

With a shout, Yun Duyi dropped his weapon and Yun Tian quickly used this opportunity to dash out the door and rush towards a location where no one with simple strength would even dare approach unless they were truly confident in their skill, this was not just any ordinary place in the back mountains; This was Demon Beasts territory, not even Demon cultivators would carelessly charge into that area within their right senses, but Yun Tian knew that this was his only option since no one would be able to help him at the moment, plus, he wasn't in his right sense's. He would have gone to the Li residence, but there was just way too much rivalry between him and them that they might even kill him first before Yun Duyi had the chance, he could have also run to his mom but she was no longer here, and finally, he could have rushed to any random stranger, buy Yun Duyi would have already gotten to him before he even had time to think.

"Get back here you f**ing bastard, you'll pay for that."

Hearing Yun Duyi's angry voice from behind him, Yun Tian Immediately increased his pace and ran faster than he had ever done in his life, even though he had lost his cultivation power, he was still once a level three elementary Qi master and could use much more energy than an ordinary person.

Yun Tian fell to the ground causing his upper robe to rip off, and an eye-catching bruise could be found on his right shoulder, yet he didn't care because all that he knew now was run, run, run...

Yun Duyi gazed at Yun Tian with a mocking expression as he watched him run into the back mountains, this to him was being good as dead, and from that alone his mission was complete. Just as he was about to turn around to leave, a piece of Yun Tian's torn robe which had been stained with blood from his bruise caught his attention.

"Ha, ha, today is truly my lucky day, I shall use this as proof of my kill, ha, ha, Yun Duyi shall rise again."

Thump...! Thump..! Thump.!

The scene was a dark night with rain pouring down to the ground, lighting tore through the sky as Yun Tian's Body recklessly hit the trees in front of him, obviously, he was running for his dear life. Rumble..! A Mini lightning bolt suddenly struck the space a few meters away from him which sent him flying and causing him to blank out...

Ah.......!

Jerking up from the ground face up, Yun Tian felt the warmth of the sun as he panted heavily after waking up from a terrible dream, that is if it was even a dream.

"Where am I."

Wondered Yun Tian in fear soon realizing exactly where he was. The back mountains was rumored to contain all sorts of treasures, but also monsters, and anyone could be watching as he speaks...

The entire forest abruptly shook with force, causing a swarm of birds to fly off with trees scattered in all directions, mountains were toppled and the land got scorched and destroyed as shock waves echoed through the forest, Yun Tian tried to get up and run as fast as he could, but at the moment he just too weak and couldn't even run a few meters without falling to the ground or bumping into something.

"Huh, what's this, I can sense the aura of the things around me."

Muttered Yun Tian in shock, though it was faint, he could still sense something. He could now at least tell if there was a tree or a big enough living animal in front of him, but it had to be at least three meters close.

"Humm, could it be? Spirit cultivation!"

Thought Yun Tian who was lost for words, not even in his dreams, heck even if he was told by the patriarch himself that he would be able to muster some form of spirit cultivation without being at the nascent source realm would he had believe, even if a genius started cultivating from their mother's womb, they still wouldn't be able to achieve such a feat unless with a secrete treasure or their bloodline was related to it.
