But she still had to talk to George at night. After all, she had to get his permission to go out to work. Otherwise, without a driver to bring her back and forth, she would have to get to the office on foot and she was afraid that would take forever!

Sigrid reckoned that if George was to reject the idea of her working, it certainly would be because he would be ashamed of having his wife working for a few thousand per month, and he would lose face. Apart from that, there should be no other reasons for him not to agree. 

All she had to tell him was that she would not reveal her identity at work, so she should be fine.

Sigrid thought well. It was already six o'clock when George came back home. After dinner, George went straight into the study and did not give her a chance to speak at all, which annoyed her a little.

In order to save time, she first took a shower so she would not have to waste more time later and she could talk to George.
