Joseph had his arm around Lucille's waist and was about to leave.
Fiona stepped forward and softly called out, "Josh..."
Lucille raised an eyebrow. Was that really the Fiona she knew? She was usually so high and mighty, yet she was so gentle and weak in front of Joseph. It was truly unexpected.
"What is it?"
Joseph's expression was completely indifferent. It was hard to tell whether his handsome face was happy or angry. His eyes were only cold and distant.
Fiona bit her lip and summoned up the courage to ask, "Josh, can we talk for a while?"
There were so many people around them. If Joseph rejected her or ignored her, it would only make Fiona even more embarrassed.
The haughty Fiona seemed to have thrown caution to the wind at that moment, disregarding all her pride and self-esteem. "It'll only be for a while, okay?"
Before Joseph could speak, Lucille snatched the opportunity. "You guys can talk. I'm going to the washroom."
Lucille left quickly and cleanly.
