Robert glanced at the time and said slowly, "It's already eleven at night. You usually go home much earlier than this, but today..."
He dragged out the last syllable and didn't continue.
Lucille felt a little helpless. "Stop testing me. I'm not leaving tonight. I'll stay here for a while."
She did not know how she was going to face Joseph if she went home. She might as well hide for a while.
Anyway, the whole building belonged to her, and there were enough rooms for her to stay in.
Lucille waved her hand when she saw that Robert was still standing in front of her. "You're blocking the view. Move out of the way."
Unexpectedly, Robert suddenly grabbed her hand.
Lucille subconsciously tried to pull back, but it was too late. Robert instantly caught sight of the looming red thread on her palm.
It looked like a vein that tangled and intertwined like a blooming flower.
Robert frowned and didn't ask what it was, but his brown pupils visibly trembled.
He asked, "Was it worth it?"
