A few steps after Lucille left, Noelle gritted her teeth and caught up to Lucille's pace with a quick jog. Her voice was bright as she issued a challenge, "I want a fair competition with you!"
A fair competition?
Lucille asked, "Competing for what?"
Noelle stood tall with her chest out, "To tell you the truth, I fell in love with Joseph at first sight! I can't give him to you, so I have to compete with you fairly!"
Lucille nodded. "Ah, I see, so for you, knowing that the man is married and still recklessly throwing yourself on him is fair competition."
With the words, Noelle was left speechless as if her face was burning with embarrassment.
Even if she wanted a fair competition, it depended on whether the parties involved wanted it willingly.
Joseph had stated his stance more than once. From beginning to end, he never gave Noelle any room for fantasy.
