Lucille kept her face expressionless, flatly saying, "I think I'd rather stand."
Hearing it, Akalmesh turned around. When he caught a glimpse of her eyes, he felt something was off and quickly approached her.
Her eyes weren't showing any signs of focus!
The color drained from his face. Almost immediately, he grabbed Lucille's wrist, his fingers pressing on her pulse.
Lucille grimaced, trying to shake off his grip, but was interrupted by an authoritative command from the middle-aged man in front of her: "Don't move!"
What a bully, she thought.
Lucille was stunned by his bark, and her expression quickly turned cold. She abruptly pulled her hand back and cautiously looked up at the man before her.
Even though she couldn't see anything.
Akalmesh took a deep breath before questioning in a probing tone, "What's the matter with your eyes?"
