Allen shared with them how Lilian had expressed her gratitude for their support during her difficult times.
"Thank you all," he said sincerely. "Each of you has played a part in the lives of my woman, Lilian here, and my daughter. I truly don't know how to repay your kindness."
"Mr. Allen, you really don't need to thank us so much," Ryan replied with a smile. "We were just doing our duty as friends."
"Please, it's just Allen. No need for formality between us," he corrected, waving his hand dismissively. "I don't usually have many friends, but I consider the four of us a close-knit group now."
"Thank you, Mr. Allen," Ryan blurted impulsively, but Allen interrupted again.
"Just Allen is fine," he insisted, and they all chuckled together, the warmth of friendship filling the room.
The evening was truly memorable.
"Lilian, is there anything you'd like to share with us?" Maureen asked, giving her friend a curious glance.
