Alex burst into hysterical laughter, clearly amused, and unable to contain himself in a way that would likely anger Camille and her daughter.
"You're hilarious, Camille. With your sense of humor, you could make a career in comedy!"
He continued, "So this house is yours? You crack me up. As for the CEO position at Simmons Company, you have no authority to decide whether I should step down. Isabel has 50% ownership, and Lilian holds the other 50%.
How can you claim I should no longer be the CEO? Normally, I remain in that role until Lilian agrees otherwise unless I choose to resign," Alex replied.
He yawned and made his way downstairs, filling a glass with water before turning to face the two women.
Their reactions were momentarily stunned by his words; they realized they were no longer the sole owners of the business. Without Lilian's agreement, they could no longer make decisions impacting the company.
