Making Maureen jealous

Maureen felt a wave of nausea wash over her as if she might be sick. She couldn't tear her gaze away from Ryan, who was growing increasingly passionate with Paige, who reciprocated his affection eagerly.

With each passing moment, Maureen's complexion shifted from its usual fair tone to a sickly green, and her eyes began to redden with unshed tears.

Clenching her fists, she shot Ryan a furious glare, her heart racing irregularly in her chest. Anger and confusion swirled within her, and despite the turmoil, she found herself walking away—not toward the restaurant, but toward the restroom.

Once inside, she allowed the floodgates to open, tears streaming down her face. She felt utterly helpless, unable to control her emotions any longer.

Why was Ryan doing this to her? What had she done that warranted such cruelty? It felt as if he was intentionally trying to erase her existence, ignoring her throughout the party and during the dances.
