Let's have a son

Lilian remained silent, refusing to respond. Allen stepped closer, wrapping his arms around her waist, leaning down to rest his head in the curve of her neck. He placed a soft kiss on her collarbone, but Lilian shoved his head away.

"Allen, please keep your distance," she said firmly.

Allen chuckled softly as he removed his suit. It was clear she was trying to give him a taste of his own medicine. Not ready for bed yet, Lilian left the room, leaving Allen behind. She stepped onto the balcony, settling into a chair and gazing at the stream of cars below.

Her thoughts wandered. She hadn't called Katie in days and made a mental note to check on her soon. Thankfully, there was no work the next day—perhaps that was why Allen had come home early. As much as she missed him, she didn't want to make it obvious. She was feigning annoyance to punish him for ignoring her the past few days. If she missed him this much, surely he missed her too.
