When Alexandra finally married her childhood crush at the age of 25, she didn't expect that she would one day catch another woman in the arms of her husband while she hid in the bedroom closet. But there she was, anger, betrayal, and sadness washed over her all at once as she stared at her husband and the woman who had the same dark brown eyes and dark hair as her. That same night, she stumbled onto the beach and before she knew it, she was sitting across the table from her high school ex, Caleb, looking down at the terms of their marriage contract that he drafted up hastily. 

Fuelled by anger and betrayal by the people she once loved, Alexandra knew she had to take things into her own hands. Together with Caleb, they plot her revenge.

“Let’s go,” Caleb demanded as he grabbed Alexandra by her wrist without a warning, pulling her away from the chaos and out of the ballroom in a matter of seconds while both Ethan and Hannah watched them leave with a smug smile on their faces.

“Why are we the ones leaving?” Alexandra questioned, yanking her wrist out of his grasp as soon as they were out of their sight, just the two of them hidden behind a wall somewhere. 

Caleb let out a deep breath. “I have my reasons, Al. Trust me.”

“Well, they can’t just -”

“Hey, hey listen.”

He was now looking down at her with both hands on her shoulders as she had her back pushed up against the wall, their faces only a few inches apart. “What?” 

A smirk etched itself onto his face. “I promise they will regret everything they had said earlier.”

“How so?”

“You’ll find out soon.”

"Stop arguing with me, Alexandra. Your sister had locked herself in the room ever since she came home last evening. For the sake of Hannah, can't you just do as you are told?" Alexandra watched as her mother wrinkled her nose and narrowed her eyes, she didn't even try hiding the disdain and disapproval that was clearly visible on her face.

Alexandra's eyes glanced at the basket of fruits that were sitting on the table in front of her, full of fruits that were obviously taken from home. Her parents did not even bother getting her a brand new basket of fruits. It was almost like a sick reminder that they simply couldn't care less about her well-being.

"I'm not going to just do everything you tell me to. I don't owe you, or Dad, or Hannah anything!" Alexandra retorted, her voice louder than she had expected.
