When Alexandra finally married her childhood crush at the age of 25, she didn't expect that she would one day catch another woman in the arms of her husband while she hid in the bedroom closet. But there she was, anger, betrayal, and sadness washed over her all at once as she stared at her husband and the woman who had the same dark brown eyes and dark hair as her. That same night, she stumbled onto the beach and before she knew it, she was sitting across the table from her high school ex, Caleb, looking down at the terms of their marriage contract that he drafted up hastily.

“Let’s go,” Caleb demanded as he grabbed Alexandra by her wrist without a warning, pulling her away from the chaos and out of the ballroom in a matter of seconds while both Ethan and Hannah watched them leave with a smug smile on their faces.

“Why are we the ones leaving?” Alexandra questioned, yanking her wrist out of his grasp as soon as they were out of their sight, just the two of them hidden behind a wall somewhere. 

Caleb let out a deep breath. “I have my reasons, Al. Trust me.”

“Well, they can’t just -”

“Hey, hey listen.”

He was now looking down at her with both hands on her shoulders as she had her back pushed up against the wall, their faces only a few inches apart. “What?” 

A smirk etched itself onto his face. “I promise they will regret everything they had said earlier.”

“How so?”

“You’ll find out soon.”

The sleek long blonde hair and familiar pair of light green eyes were not difficult to miss. There she was, standing right before their eyes. It was Elisha.

She was dressed in a short sundress a couple of inches above her knees, and the deep v-neck exposed her neck and collarbones. With a tiny frown etched onto Alexandra's face, her eyes glanced down to see that Elisha was holding a bag of something in her hands. Elisha's lips curled into a huge smile as her gaze met Caleb's.

"Happy birthday!" Elisha exclaimed, excitement evident on her face. She was ready to leap forward and wrap her arms around Caleb to pull him into a hug but stopped quickly. The smile that was once on her face soon faded when her eyes fell on Alexandra who was still on his back. There was a pout on Elisha's face and her eyebrows were knitted together in frustration as she stared at the couple before her.
