"Alexandra…" Her name rolled off his tongue effortlessly as though it had always belonged there, the deep baritone of his voice causing her heart to skip a beat.

Silence enveloped them in an instant as the air between them crackled with unspoken tension. The flood of memories engulfed them at that moment. How long had it been since they had last seen one another?

Effortlessly, he reached for her back and under her knees, carrying her bridal-style before heading back to the car. 

"Is there anything I can help with? As thanks for… not running me over and providing me shelter?"

"Actually, there is," Caleb said. 

Alexandra turned, raising an eyebrow. She hadn't expected him to so shamelessly take her up on her offer when they both knew it was just to be polite.

"This probably ain't the best time but… Do you want to get married?"

More gasps erupted from the crowd this time, casting judgmental glances as they started to whisper among themselves and jab their fingers accusingly at Ethan and Hannah who appeared flabbergasted by the sudden information that was revealed in front of everyone much to their surprise.

"What a shameless pair..." One groaned.

"I can't believe he still had the audacity to propose to her after he slept with her sister," another said.

"That's disgusting, how could she sleep with her own sister's boyfriend?" More voices started to emerge and soon insults were flung one after another, right at Ethan and Hannah.

Did she really spend so long trying to get back on Ethan's good side and gain his trust only to throw it all away in the name of revenge? That was something that both Ethan and Hannah were struggling to comprehend and get to terms with.
