Alexandra's features were masked with an expression of surprise and disbelief as she found herself staring into her mother's eyes that were filled with nothing other than disdain for her. As they locked eyes, the not so pleasant memories from before flashed past her eyes like a short movie and she couldn't help but to feel a dull ache deep in the hollow of her heart.
She couldn't be bothered by her mother, ignoring her words, she turned around to leave. That was when she felt someone grab her by her wrist, the touch was rough and abrupt.
"Leaving so soon?" Her mother asked with a raised eyebrow. "I wasn't done talking to you just yet," she said as the corners of her lips twitched upwards into a slight smirk.
