The Journey Beyond the Academy

As Aleric and Evelina made their way to the academy's exit, they boarded a carriage and crossed the magical bridge, arriving at the entrance. Aleric's eyes fell upon Aric, dressed in elegant attire, approaching him with an unexpected demeanor.

"Aric," Aleric greeted, noting the unusual formality in his tone. "What brings you here?"

With a faint smile, Aric replied, "Lord Aleric, would you care to accompany me?"

Aleric's curiosity piqued. "Where are we going?"

"Damien's new estate," Aric revealed. "It's time for you to reunite with him."

Accepting the invitation, Aleric nodded. "Lead the way."

As they rode together, Aric explained the need for caution due to ongoing surveillance at the academy. He shared details of their destination, describing the path as they journeyed through a dense forest, the towering trees casting elongated shadows in the fading light of dusk.

"Is this the place?" Aleric asked, peering out of the carriage window as the grand mansion came into view.

"Yes," Aric confirmed, a note of pride in his voice. "This is where we'll find Damien."

Aleric couldn't help but feel a mixture of apprehension and anticipation. What awaited him at Damien's estate? And what role would he play in the unfolding events?

Upon entering Damien's estate, Aleric couldn't help but notice the stark difference in ambiance. Gone were the sounds of battle and revelry, replaced instead by an air of formality and restraint. The bandits, usually clad in rugged attire, now donned formal clothing, lending an air of sophistication to the surroundings.

However, amidst the refined atmosphere, one peculiar aspect caught Aleric's attention—the presence of numerous female servants, each possessing voluptuous figures and strikingly beautiful faces. They greeted Aleric with warmth and friendliness, their flirtatious gestures causing him to blush furiously.

Beside him, Evelina coughed pointedly, her annoyance palpable. Aleric snapped out of his daze, realizing the impropriety of the situation. Clearing his throat, he turned to Aric with a questioning gaze.

"Where is Damien?" he inquired, eager to reunite with his mentor and father figure.

Aric gestured towards the staircase leading to the main dormitory. "He's upstairs," he replied. "Let's not keep him waiting."

As they reached the top of the staircase, Aric halted in front of a grand door and turned to Aleric. "Knock before entering," he instructed in a low voice, his demeanor unusually serious. "And remember, you should go in alone. Leave Evelina with me; we'll wait outside."

Aleric nodded, a sense of apprehension gnawing at him as he raised his hand to knock on the door. The sound echoed through the corridor, reverberating in the tense silence.

"Come on in," Damien's voice called out from within.

With a deep breath, Aleric pushed open the door and stepped into the room. His eyes immediately fell upon Damien, reclining on the bed, his torso bare and marred by countless scars—a testament to the trials he had faced as a bandit leader.

Beside Damien, two women cowered beneath the sheets, their naked forms partially concealed. Their presence caught Aleric off guard, and he averted his gaze, feeling a flush of embarrassment creeping up his neck.

Damien rose from the bed, his movements fluid as he dressed himself in more formal attire. As he straightened his garments, the two women hurriedly covered themselves and slipped away, leaving Damien and Aleric alone in the room.

With a stern expression, Damien fixed his gaze on Aleric. "Have you made any progress on the mission to obtain the Magic Stone from the academy?" he inquired, his tone expectant.

Aleric's heart sank as he struggled to find words. "I... I haven't made any significant progress," he admitted reluctantly, the weight of Damien's disappointment heavy on his shoulders.

The silence that followed was palpable, filled with the unspoken tension of unmet expectations and dashed hopes. Aleric braced himself for Damien's response, unsure of what repercussions his lack of progress might bring.

Damien's disappointment was evident as he spoke. "It appears Shadow Spark has fallen short of my expectations. I was hoping for more substantial progress from you," he remarked, his tone tinged with frustration. "Alright, let's go do some sparring and see if hanging around with a bunch of kids in the academy has degraded your combat skills. Come on."

With that, Damien led the way out of his room, gesturing for Aleric to follow. "Aric, you too," he added, motioning for his second-in-command to join them. "And your servant can come along as well," he added, nodding towards Evelina.

Together, they made their way to the backyard of the mansion, where a training area had been set up for combat practice. The air was crisp, and the sound of birdsong filled the air as they prepared for their sparring session.
