General Anglius

According to Vlad's knowledge, that was the Silent Wind Military Base. Although it was a massive military establishment dating back to the Constantine Country's early years, serving as an essential strategic center in the war that secured its independence, it has lost all strategic importance due to its location away from the border, being reduced to a cultural site.

Despite its capacity to accommodate over 10,000 people, the base was supposed to house only 100 soldiers. These soldiers were merely for customs and tradition, as this location had not seen battle in hundreds of years.

Vlad's eyes narrowed as he observed the exterior of the base overrun with demons' corpses, blood, and claw marks scarring the outside of the walls. However, the interior seemed to be in order. A battle had occurred, but it appeared the soldiers inside managed to withstand and overcome the horde of demonic beast.

"Boss, why are we here again?"

"Jormungandr, while we are strong and our abilities will continue to improve, numbers are just as important as personal power in this world. We are not omnipotent, and if we want to continue advancing and developing a civilization capable of handling future threats, we need capable people and a central operations base.

This fortress is perfect, allowing us to monitor threats from a safe distance and giving us time to prepare. It's large enough to accommodate thousands, sufficient for the initial foundation of a well-organized force.

Plus, there are already capable soldiers inside who would make the next part of my plan easier."

In any country, the military regime and chain of command are crucial, and the soldiers understand this well. Thus, assuming command of the fortress seemed like a distant dream in the past.

However, they were now isolated from the rest of the world and could not communicate with the government or anyone else.

Vlad already had a plan for handling those soldiers, using his military experiences and understanding of the new world order.

"Should we approach them?"

"Not yet, we must wait... Oh, it seems we won't have to wait much longer."

As he turned towards the mountain's base, Vlad smiled and noticed a horde of abyssal demons emerging.

---

The horde of abyssal monsters marching towards the military fortress was of the bestial type, seemingly acting on instinct alone. None were capable of the higher wisdom or Force seen in the Abyssal Mantis. However, with nearly three hundred of them, they posed a significant threat.

A middle-aged man in a military uniform was observing everything atop a wall. He quickly assessed the situation, realizing that a direct confrontation would result in catastrophic losses.

This wasn't their first encounter with these creatures, and while some soldiers perished, the rest managed to awaken their Paths, growing stronger and gaining the power to confront the monsters more effectively. However, it would be easy because this horde was larger than any of the ones they had faced before.

With a complex smile, the military commander glanced at the machete in his right hand. Although he had been trained to use this type of weapon, modern warfare was fought with guns, not knives, but the sudden change in the world had thrust them back into the age of swords.

Fortunately, Constantine Country placed a great emphasis on tradition, so all soldiers had trained with blades and spears, and there was an entire warehouse full of them.

"Geneal Anglius."

A young man approached the middle-aged commander, speaking solemnly with sharp eyes and a calm face.

General Anglius turned to the young man, a small smile appearing on his face. Although the personnel sent to the fortress were soldiers, most had yet to experience true battlefield conditions and were inexperienced. This young man had been one of the few who experienced war overseas, becoming his trusted right hand during this order.

Nonetheless, General Anglius only dwells on these thoughts for a short time. His focus sharpened as he realized the need to issue orders.
