Chapter 31: Reporting the Crimes We Commit

It took nearly as much time cleaning up after themselves as it did searching the apartment. They made sure that everything was where it was supposed to be, and that there were no traces of the hidden compartments beyond what was there when they first arrived. Even still, they were able to leave the apartment behind with several hours remaining before Scarlet was set to return.

“Go turn in your quest right away,” Megan told Aijin. “Then maybe find somewhere to lay low for a while.”

“I'll go work a bit on Agent 13,” Aijin said. She gave Megan a squeeze on the shoulder. “I'll be in touch,” she said.

Manager To-Soren didn't make Megan wait for even a minute. As soon as Megan showed up, the secretary ushered her inside, where To-Soren waited at her desk, a smile on her face. “Progress already?” she asks.

Megan smiled at her. “More than progress,” she said. “I think I have our mole.”

“Excellent!” To-Soren said. “Tell me what you found.”
