Chapter 36: Desperation

Lucy didn’t care that it was still night out. She didn’t care that there were teachers and students roaming around who could see her. She needed to find Celeste. She needed to make sure she was alright.

Lucy ran down the halls until she reached the familiar door she knew led to Celeste’s small apartment. She banged wildly on it, feeling more desperate by the moment. She pounded again and thought about just breaking in the door when it flung open. Celeste was standing there looking wild-eyed and covering herself up with a silver, silk bathroom.

“Lucy, what are you going here?” Celeste asked with concern. She glanced around before pulling Lucy inside.

“What am I doing here? I went to your office… you summoned me… the whole place, the note…” Lucy tried to gather her thoughts. She knew she wasn’t making a lot of sense. Celeste looked at her dumbfounded.

“I have the night off. I didn’t summon you.”
