The clouds were omnipresent in the sky and there was a strange orangey hue covering it all. The moon seemed to glow like a warning and Lucy couldn’t help but feel like the warning was for her. It was an ominous feeling when Lucy came out of Celeste’s apartment for classes. The wind was blowing as if announcing an oncoming storm. Lucy shuttered but not from the cold.
“What is happening?” she asked as Celeste joined her.
“They are here,” was all Celeste said. Lucy looked at her and registered the look of fear on her girlfriend's face. Lucy’s heart leapt to her throat.
“The council?” she asked. Celeste nodded, keeping her eyes on the moon. It looked now like it was taunting her, laughing at her fear.
