Are You Worthy?

Amber stared at the headlines, squinting her eyes.

She had already leaked her family's business to her longtime crush, Gabriel.

Amber pinched her nose bridge with a hint of regret. In her past life, she taught she was doing something good and righteous and received a serious punishment that almost killed her. But she didn't mind. Now just looking back, she realized how stupid she was.

Truth to her words, her phone started ringing. Looking at the number on the phone, Amber's lips curved up to a mocking smile. After five minutes of continuous ringing she finally answered the call.

Before she could say anything, the man had already started yelling and hung up the call not giving her any opportunity to refute. Amber reluctantly went to the wardrobe to get something to wear. Being extremely careful and slow. She wore a green straight bell sleeve Ankara short gown with very heavy makeup and her long hair just falling down almost covering her entire face. She looked at herself in the mirror feeling very satisfied and went out.

At the living room she met Mercy and Gamal dressed in all black like spies. They both turned to look at her but Gamal choked on his drink and Mercy looked like she had seen a ghost.

"You got your real appearance back. Great."

Gamal said while wiping his face with the tissues Mercy gave him. Amber pursed her lips ignoring them. Their reactions meant she really looked ugly as before.

"Are you going back to your place?"

Mercy asked Amber standing up too.

"Yes?"

"Come on we'll give you a ride. We're going out too."

"Well_"

Before Amber could refute, Mercy and Gamal had already walked out leaving no room for arguments or refusal. Amber walked out and after some thinking, she didn't mind them following after finding out they really didn't have a place to be.

Gamal drove them into the gates of the Swares mansion. The servants passing all paused to see the important guest who had just arrived.

But all their excitement crumbled seeing the heavy madeup girl coming out of the car with two boys wearing masks following.

They never expected to see this young miss anytime soon. The butler at the door looked very dissatisfied seeing her and didn't even bother to hide it.

"Your parents are inside."

The butler said checking her appearance. Amber didn't bother with him and walked in. The butler looked at the two following Amber and didn't even bother to hold the door open for them causing it to hit Mercy's head. Gamal pulled her to check and saw how the place was now red. He furrowed his brows prepared to attack the butler but Mercy told him to stop and they went in.

Entering the living room, they met Amber with a swollen cheek and a woman holding a man.

Few Minutes Ago

Amber walked into the living room and met her step mom trying to calm her father down with her step sisters sitting by the side with one crying.

Seeing Amber's heavily made-up indifferent face, their father was more angry. He rushed to Amber and slapped her so hard a cut appeared on her lip due to the force and the ring on his hand. Amber's eyes turned cold as she calmly wiped the blood and stared at her father. Her step mom rushed to pull him back.

"What are you doing? We should all calm down and hear what she has to say."

Margaret pulled Peter back to his seat rubbing his chest.

"Dad I'm sure Sister didn't mean to do it. Quick Amber apologize to Dad. Promise you won't do it again."

Amber turned her gaze to Melanie.

"Why should I be the only one to apologize? Didn't you tell me I can do whatever I want? After all it's my mother's company you freeloaders enjoy from."

"And now you even have the guts to accuse your sister! How did I raise a beast like you?!"

"Did you raise me? Auntie raised me not you. And concerning the info I gave Gabriel, the cooperation with the Bao Enterprise wasn't worth it. I'll compensate for the loss the company suffered. Any questions?"

They all looked at Amber as if she had grown two heads. Peter was the first to react and shot a tea cup at Amber. Amber quickly reacted and dodged but it still hit someone else.

Mercy touched her bleeding head and frowned.

Did they come here just to keep getting hurt.

"Guards! Hold this witch down for me."

Amber checked Mercy's bleeding head and stepped back seeing that Gamal was angry.

"What sought of family is this?! And he doesn't seem to care that he hurt someone!"

Gamal said glaring at Peter. Peter furrowed his brows not pleased with an ordinary bodyguard teaching him how to act in his own house.

"And who are you to talk to my father like that. You're just a servant Amber carries around_"

"Melanie enough. Someone get the other boy's injury treated."

A maid walked to Mercy and tried to lead her away but she refused to move. The maid got angry and glared at her then turned to Rebecca.

Some guards pulled Amber and held her in front of Peter. Another brought a very long whip and gave Peter. Margaret tried to pull him back but was held by some guards.

She looked so scared with pity written all over her face. But Amber did not miss the triumphant look in her eyes that was quickly concealed.

Amber scoffed and looked at the man who is supposed to be her father. It's like all his love for her died when her mother passed away.

Gamal not bearing it again pulled the whip from Peter and threw it.

"Do you want to die? You already hurt Mercy and now you want to hurt Amber too?! Stand up you coward. Can't even protect yourself I wonder what big bro sees in you."

Mercy tried to help Amber but was also held down. Gamal beat the guards but they just kept adding up.

"You dare to bring people to my home to attack me?!"

Peter picked up the whip from the ground and raised his hand to hit ber but the whip was caught by another hand.

The guards fighting with Gamal were quickly knocked down by some other men. The Swares family paused in fear looking at the demon in front of them. He had a killing intent as he glared coldly at Peter.

"Young..young master Almundo. What a surprise? We'll attend to you right away. Guards lock them up. This_"

"Lock them up?"

Peter thought that Tristan wasn't satisfied with the punishment.

"Ow don't worry I'll deal with them later. They dare to cause so much trouble. I'll decipline_"

Peter realized that there might be a problem. Gamal removed his mask and Peter's eyes almost fell off his sockets. He watched in horror as Gamal helped Mercy remove her mask too.

No wonder Tristan was so mad. He had just offended his siblings.

Peter didn't even know what to say. He had just injured the young miss and even told her brother he would discipline them.

"Let's go."

He helped Amber up and carried Mercy out.

"This isn't over old man."

Gamal warned Peter and walked out with Amber.

Peter fell on the floor just thinking of what might happen to him.
