Chapter Seventeen

The next day, Xia Tian was awakened by the alarm clock on the living room Su Xia's phone. He hurriedly got up and ran to the living room to turn off the alarm. Then he tiptoed to Su Xia's door, pressed his ear against it, listened for a moment, and confirmed that the person inside was not disturbed. Only then did he walk back to his own bedroom.

Su Xia woke up nearly noon. She rubbed her eyes as she walked out of the bedroom.

Xia Tian was sitting upright on the sofa. When he saw Su Xia coming out, he quickly stood up and walked over, looking at Su Xia with an inquiring expression.

Su Xia squinted and stepped back, her voice somewhat hoarse as she said, "Morning! Can you cook?" Xia Tian shook his head directly, sighed, and said, "Forget it, I'll cook later. You wait for a while first." Then she walked into the bathroom.

After Su Xia came out, she went straight to the kitchen, with Xia Tian following. Su Xia brought a basin to fetch water, and when the water was about to overflow, Xia Tian rushed to turn off the tap and stood there holding the basin, looking at Su Xia at a loss. Su Xia stifled a laugh, pointed to the pot, and said, "Just pour half a basin of water into the pot." Then she covered the pot and lit the fire.

"I think you must have been a rich young master before you lost your memory." Su Xia clapped her hands and hugged her arms, teasing Xia Tian and observing his expression.

However, Xia Tian showed no expression at all, just staring blankly at Su Xia.

Su Xia explained, "Look, you don't know anything, you don't even know where to put the water. It shows that you used to be a pampered young master."

"Hehe! Am I right?"

Xia Tian frowned slightly, shaking his head unhappily.

"Not happy! I'm just teasing you. Alright, you go out and wait. I can handle it here."

Xia Tian put down the basin and turned to leave. But soon he came back with a "da da" sound, holding the notebook he used to write in every time, and handed it to Su Xia.

Su Xia took the notebook, which read, "I can't remember anything from before. I can't cook now. Can you teach me? I'll cook for you in the future, so you can eat as soon as you wake up."

Su Xia looked at the notebook and then at Xia Tian, saying, "Alright! I'll teach you how to cook and do housework. From now on, you'll be my 'personal assistant.' If you do well, I'll pay you."

Xia Tian shook his head, writing, "No need for payment, I don't want anything, just as long as you don't dislike me and don't leave me."

After reading these words, Su Xia didn't know what to say. She felt a little sour in her heart. This wasn't the first time Xia Tian had said such things.

She served the noodles into two bowls. Su Xia carried the two bowls to the dining table, pushing the extra bowl in front of Xia Tian, saying seriously, "Xia Tian, don't worry, I won't abandon you. I will keep you until you find your family."

Xia Tian nodded happily and then lowered his head to eat the noodles one by one.

Both of them ate their noodles in silence.

Su Xia finished quickly and looked up at the clock on the wall, unable to believe it was already noon.

She said, "It's almost noon! Oh no!"

She hurried back to the bedroom to change clothes, exchanged a few words with Xia Tian, and then hurried out the door.

Xia Tian continued eating his noodles.

Su Xia drove to an auto repair shop.

The auto repair shop seemed quite busy. Su Xia had just gotten out of the car when a greasy young man ran over.

The young man asked enthusiastically, "Hello, are you here to get your car fixed? Or are you looking for someone?"

"Oh! I... I'm looking for someone, and also to fix my car."

The young man scratched his head and asked with a smile, "Who are you looking for?"

"I'm looking for... I'm looking for Li Qiang."

"Okay, wait a moment, I'll go call him over."

Su Xia nodded, and soon Li Qiang came out. He wasn't dirty at all; instead, he was dressed neatly and decently.

Li Qiang walked out of the gate, and his gaze locked onto Su Xia. He walked straight toward her and asked gently, "Hello, are you looking for me?"

"Yes. Hello, my name is Su Xia. I was introduced by Xiao Zhou. He said I should come and find you."

"Xiao Zhou? Zhou Ming?"

"Ah, yes, Zhou Ming. I need to replace a part in my car, but the parts at the 4S store are too expensive. So Xiao Zhou recommended me to come and find you, saying that the parts here are good quality and cheap."

For Su Xia, it was about saving money wherever possible now that she had Xia Tian to take care of.

Li Qiang chuckled, "Alright, you can trust me." He then called over a mechanic and had Su Xia's car driven in.

"Miss Su, please leave your contact information. We'll give you a call when the car is ready."

"Sure, thank you." Su Xia left her contact information and then left.

She went to the bus stop, took the bus to the market, bought a lot of vegetables, and then went to the supermarket to buy some food and coffee. Coffee was essential because she would be staying up late to complete her tasks.
