A Sweet Dilemma

The next day, Yvonne and Vivian, representing the Car R&D Center, arrived at MFC Automotive Company to sign a cooperation agreement.

The three sat at opposite ends of the conference room, the temperature inside intentionally kept low in stark contrast to the scorching weather outside.

During a lull in Vivian's perusal of the agreement, Jerome, seemingly idle, unabashedly admired his enthusiastic fan.

Today, Vivian seemed to have made a slight effort in her appearance.

Her tightly tied hair cascaded down, her eyebrows resembled crescent moons, and her lips resembled red cherry blossoms.

Compared to the stern look from the previous day, she now exuded a more gentle and refined aura.

A sweet dilemma arose in Jerome's mind.

The collaboration had not even started, and Vivian couldn't resist showcasing her versatile charm.

Over the next three months of collaboration, if Vivian continued to appear before him in such an alluring manner every day, subtly capturing his attention, would it affect his work efficiency?

After all, he was a busy CEO dealing with millions in a minute.

"... In addition to achieving the improvement goals for MFC's new car, the second party must work at the first party's company for a minimum of three months to receive a technical support fee of xx million dollar," suddenly, a woman's voice broke the silence.

Vivian marked the clause in the contract and, expressionless, stated, "I have objections to this."

Jerome immediately halted his wandering thoughts, listening to Vivian continue, "Receiving the corresponding technical support fee only after working for three months is not in line with our understanding of a technological collaboration agreement. I suggest removing this clause."

Listening to Vivian casually mention upgrading the high-precision radar within three days, Jerome couldn't help but be amused.

Despite expressing objections to the three-month deadline, she seemed secretly pleased inside.

In reality, Jerome had insisted on including this clause when drafting the agreement to meet Vivian's desire to get close to him.

He was concerned that if she found the bugs too early and wasn't satisfied, she might come up with more excuses to stay.

Instead, he decided to be a good person and set a clear timeframe from the beginning, fulfilling the girl's dream.

Women were adept at saying one thing and meaning another.

Jerome observed Vivian, attempting to find a flaw in her ice-cold demeanor.

His gaze then shifted to Yvonne sitting beside her, realizing that Vivian might not want to show her true intentions in front of her leader.

Jerome chuckled inwardly.

The young lady indeed was shy and had many hidden thoughts.

Well, he might as well give her some face, and play the villain in front of Yvonne.

Jerome stretched out his long legs, lounging comfortably in his seat, lifting an eyebrow.

"Whether you upgrade it in 3 days or 30 days, I am purchasing three months of your technical support. Of course, you are free to decline."

"After all, you are an evaluation company, not a research and development company. However, if that's the case, I believe our discussion would have to return to the issue of the certification process."

Jerome revealed a row of white teeth.

"If within three days you don't provide me with a five-star certification according to the process, I'll meet you on court later."

Was he threatening her?

Vivian glanced at the man in front of her. He looked about 25 or 26 years old, with well-defined features, rosy lips, and white teeth. He had a pair of attractive peach blossom eyes at the corners, and his harmless appearance was unexpectedly that of a man-eating flower.

She sneered. But this man-eating flower had bitten the wrong person. She was not someone who could be easily controlled.

She stood up directly. "It doesn't matter, I don't mind. Do as you please..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Yvonne, who was sitting beside her, pressed her shoulder with a projectile launched from her seat, interrupting her. "Yes, we don't mind. Do as you please, we'll follow your lead!"

Vivian: "?"

Was this the words she trying to say?

And since when did the Car R&D Center become so submissive!

Yvonne winked at Vivian, indicating for her to restrain her temper.

Vivian exhaled, finding comfort in the fact that all of this was for the sake of the automotive industry, and she had no real connection with the self-assured CEO in front of her.

Under Yvonne's compromise and pushover attitude, the signing of the cooperation agreement proceeded exceptionally smoothly, so smoothly that Vivian suspected she might have been unknowingly sold out by Yvonne and Jerome.

This loss of control made Vivian feel unusually displeased.

Exiting the MFC Building, Yvonne held the agreement with a smile like a sunflower, as if gaining a significant advantage.

"Collaborating openly with a company like MFC in the field of autonomous driving, the project will undoubtedly leave a remarkable mark in history. From our research center's perspective, it's not just about profits; the social benefits alone are worth it."

Reflecting on the situation, Vivian felt uncomfortable hearing Yvonne's words.

Frowning, she said, "I only take on projects that interest me. It should be considered an honor for them to have me. Do you know how many automotive companies have begged me for technical guidance, offering sky-high prices, all of which I declined?"

"I know, I know," Yvonne was well aware of Vivian's capabilities, which is why she trusted her to join MFC's research team.

Vivian's professional expertise was outstanding, but the brand was still MFC's highlight.

Yvonne reminded her, "MFC is different from our research center. You've just arrived; better tone down your temper. Don't offend Jerome."

Unconvinced, Vivian rolled her eyes and casually handed her copy of the agreement to Yvonne.

"Hold onto this for me. I won't be returning to the office. I'm heading to Astontech University first."

Vivian's younger cousin, Samson Sharp, was currently studying at Astontech University.

He had just called, claiming to have "made a little mistake" and needing her help as he didn't dare call his mother.

Vivian agreed to go and assist him.

It was ridiculous. At his age, he's still getting teachers to call his parents. When she was in kindergarten, she wasn't as timid as him.

Samson's phone calls continued one after another.

Vivian, impatient, said, "I've told you I'm on my way. Call me again, and I'll first knock your head before helping you with your 'little mistake'."

Samson: "..."

Samson: "Goodbye, sister. Be safe on the road. I'll be waiting for you, sister."

Yvonne had become accustomed to the interaction between the siblings.

Adjusting her glasses, she said, "Astontech University is quite far. How do you plan to go? I can lend you the car, and I'll take the subway back to the office."

"Give the young people a chance; if you take the subway, someone will have to give up their seat for you," Vivian responded casually, heading towards the subway entrance, leaving Yvonne amused and exasperated, thinking, "What a fine young lady, but why does she have to talk!"
