How Dare Someone Bully My Woman?

During the day, Jerome sat in his spacious office, facing a stack of documents that the department had sent for his signature.

Celia stood by his side, dutifully reporting the week's schedule.

Jerome, rubbing his temples, inquired, "Celia, how many days is the CEO's annual leave for those who have worked between one and ten years?"

"For those with cumulative work experience of one to ten years, it is five days," replied Celia promptly.

She was accustomed to Jerome's similar inquiries and added, "However, before your leave, you should consider the company's decision-making process. Some documents, if not approved according to the procedure, might affect the department's workflow, causing delays and impacting stock price fluctuations."

Everyone envied the CEO, but who truly knew the hardships of the CEO's daily work?

Jerome grumbled discontentedly and continued studying the documents.

As he reviewed the supplementary materials submitted by the research and development department, his thoughts drifted to his girlfriend.

In the morning, Vivian, to fulfill some "fake couple" agreement, intentionally got out of the car a distance away.

Initially, Jerome had reservations about this, feeling that Vivian's actions were unnecessary.

Fortunately, Celia reminded him.

"Vivian probably fears that rumors detrimental to you might circulate within the company."

After all, it was Vivian who secretly withheld the five-star certification for the new MFC car, causing a delay in the release schedule.

If people found out about Jerome was dating Vivian, his reputation would be affected as well.

What kind of behavior was this?

It was simply loving him to pieces!

Unable to resist, Jerome took out his phone, opened Twitter, and watched the video that had once topped the trending list several times, eventually saving it to his album.

After a few seconds, unable to sit still, he said to Vivian on his phone, "Well, seeing your excellent performance, I'll give you a surprise to enjoy."

On the other side, Vivian, in the testing area, let out a loud sneeze and said to Len beside her, "I need to understand the basic design principles of autonomous driving mode and get an overview of your early plans."

"Since Vivian is so capable, I think you can handle it without those original documents," Len remarked.

In fact, the entire research and development team showed a hostile attitude towards Vivian.

The child they had nurtured for years was now born, only to be dismissed with a few words by an outsider.

Now, that outsider was even part of the team, giving orders and meddling in their affairs, and no one could accept it.

So, during work today, most of the time, Vivian was left alone to research automotive components, while the rest of the team sat harmoniously in the office, chatting in front of their computers.

Vivian didn't have time to bother with these trivial interpersonal matters.

Her purpose was simple: find and fix the problems.

Since they weren't helping, Vivian took it upon herself to dismantle all the components of the car and analyze them one by one.

When Jerome arrived, he saw Vivian standing alone in front of the car, meticulously recording details of the scattered parts.

Observing the other members of the research team sitting in the office, seemingly in perfect harmony while chatting, he couldn't help but feel annoyed at his own negligence.

He reproached himself for not coming earlier, his voice cold, "Did I hire you for research just so you could sit here and chat?"

The sudden visit of the CEO made everyone except Len nervous.

"Vivian, come here."

Jerome, with a stern face, exuded an air of authority.

Vivian, seeing everyone in the office lowering their heads, thought something significant had happened and quickly walked over.

She heard Jerome ask, "Have they been bullying you?"

Having just crawled out from under the car, with two obvious black marks on her cheek, Vivian, only now realizing Jerome's question, felt like she was being defended by the CEO from some injustice.

Unwilling to accept such an insult, Vivian glanced at Jerome, turned around, and headed back to the workshop without even looking at him.

But Jerome grabbed her, saying, "Wait!"

In front of everyone, he couldn't resist extending his right hand to wipe off the marks on her face, saying, "You got something dirty on you."

Truly theatrical.

Since starting in this field, Vivian has mostly interacted with male engineers.

She paid no attention to such minor physical contact.

Wiping her face, she said, "It's nothing, I'll excuse myself."

After saying this, Vivian returned to the workshop to continue her work.

The remaining engineers left behind had expressions filled with ambiguity.

"Jerome, what's the meaning of this?"

Len, being friends with Jerome for many years, had participated in the MFC project's research and development.

Jerome grinned, wanting to boast about having a girlfriend, but suddenly thought of Vivian's confidentiality requirements.

Hesitating for a moment, he vaguely replied, "Nothing."

Len furrowed his brows and, with Jerome, walked to the door.

"Did you arrange for her to come here?"

It sounded like a backdoor deal, and Jerome didn't like it.

"I brought her here to solve your problems."

"Don't deceive others. Safety issues? Our cars have been tested so many times; what problems could there be?"

Len, annoyed, lit a cigarette.

"Do you know how much you've sacrificed just to pursue a girl? Vivian used to work at the R&D center in Europe, and now she deals with numerous car manufacturers every day at the automotive research center. We have no idea what deals might be happening behind the scenes. Don't blame me for not warning you. If anything goes wrong, you'll regret it too late."

Understanding Len's concerns, Jerome patted the man's shoulder.

"Don't act like an old man with a grudge against a young girl. If others don't know, they'd think you're jealous of her."

After all the earnest advice, it seemed useless.

Len, unaware of Jerome's romantic side, crushed the cigarette.

"I don't care what your relationship is, but if she messes with me, I won't hold back."

Having said that, Len turned around and gloomily returned to the office, leaving Jerome shaking his head.

Len was still the same rough and crude look, not knowing how to cherish a beauty.

No wonder he had no women pursuing him, unlike himself.
