Len led the entire R&D team into an antagonistic stance against Vivian, causing her work to come to a standstill.
During this period, Vivian had already familiarized herself with the basic information about the new car.
However, autonomous driving was not her expertise, and without any relevant data, she found it nearly impossible to make progress on her own.
Unable to restrain herself, Vivian approached Len.
"Your lack of cooperation is only prolonging the launch of MFC's new car."
Dressed in research attire, Len sat in front of the computer, appearing indifferent.
"You're supposed to be quite capable. I haven't hindered you. If you think our high-precision radar perception technology needs improvement, go ahead and improve it yourself."
Vivian couldn't help but scoff.
"Do you think high-precision radar technology is like a simple door sensor, requiring only a machine without understanding any interconnected technology? In the field of vehicle safety research in the country, I dare say no one is more professional than me. Currently, numerous domestic car companies are vying for a share in autonomous driving technology, and from what I know, some have made progress. If you persist in this stagnant attitude, when other companies launch first, you'll have to explain to Jerome yourself."
"Explain about what? Why not explain it to me right now?"
As Vivian's words fell, the automatic door of the lab opened from the outside, revealing a tall figure entering.
Jerome wore an expensive-looking black suit, and his refined leather shoes echoed on the floor.
Vivian looked surprised, and even Len furrowed his brow.
The two individuals, who had been in constant opposition, shared a rare moment of agreement—the frequency of Jerome visiting the lab lately was unusually high!
Carl, sitting upright on the side, sneakily glanced at the three confronting figures.
Since that dinner, Carl had become Jerome' "little spy".
Whenever Vivian encountered an issue, he promptly reported it to Jerome.
Jerome adjusted his cuffs.
"Why so silent? Weren't you going to explain something?"
With a stern face and an imposing aura, Jerome, at this moment, embodied the image of a young entrepreneur.
Len glanced at Vivian, mistakenly thinking that she was calling Jerome to complain.
He looked disdainful.
"I don't understand why improving the perception technology of our high-precision radar requires an understanding of the technical principles of vehicle operation. If she wants to enhance safety performance, I can compromise, but I also have the right to defend the six years of effort put in by our entire team."
"I signed the same confidentiality agreement as everyone else before joining MFC," Vivian expressed her displeasure.
"If you suggest that my actions pose a risk of leaking information, then, in principle, everyone does. What evidence do you have to prove your unwavering stance?"
Vivian sneered.
"In the end, you still don't think there are flaws in your developed safety system. You're just obstinate."
"Tell me what your opinions are."
Jerome crossed his arms, casting a cold glance at the silent members of the research room.
No one spoke. Jerome continued, "MFC allocates a substantial amount of salary for research every year. As the initiator of the entire project, I am more eager than anyone else to see the new car launched as soon as possible. Since you are all so confident, then expedite the process and bring it to market soon."
Jerome surveyed the room.
"Who can guarantee that once Vivian leaves, this car will be ready for market tomorrow?"
"Isn't it because Vivian didn't grant a five-star..."
One of the researchers, Tom Green, couldn't help muttering, and Jerome heard it. He showed a mocking smile.
"Who dares to step up and tell me with perfect certainty that there are no safety issues with the car's performance, that Vivian is abusing her authority, and that if any safety issues surface after the launch, he would accept full responsibility? If someone can claim that, I'll immediately fire Vivian and face the Car R&D Center head on."
Tom lowered his head, and Jerome sneered.
"Since no one dares to make that commitment, having Vivian join the investigation is the only solution. Since I've allowed her to join, I must have my reasons. Anyone who continues to marginalize her is at odds with MFC's decisions, and there's no need to stay any longer. Is that clear enough?"
The scene fell silent.
Len glared at Vivian, portraying her as a tyrant stealing someone's husband.
Vivian muttered, "..."
None of her business.
However, Jerome's words surprised Vivian.
Despite his previous favorable impression due to his ability to recognize talent, Jerome had always been perceived as a not-so-bright CEO.
Unexpectedly, today's speech sounded quite clear and logical.
Len turned to Tom and said, "Give her access to the intranet," then turned and left.
Vivian subconsciously glanced at Jerome standing on the side.
Their eyes met, and Jerome immediately flashed a row of white teeth, his eyes shining with the praise he received.
Indeed, he still had the familiar silly look that Vivian knew so well.
It was still him, no genetic mutation.
Seeing Jerome standing up for her, Vivian's mouth curved in a smile though was not really smiling, before swiftly averting her gaze.
Vivian must have been attracted again by his executive charisma.
Looked at the way she likes him; it was beyond comprehension!
Jerome, struck by Vivian's smile, felt his chest filled with a sense of satisfaction.
Exiting the R&D center, Jerome turned to Celia and couldn't help but ask, "Wasn't I too handsome just now?"
Celia immediately gave a thumbs-up.
"If your fans saw that, there would surely be a chorus of screams."
Indeed, Vivian liked him to this extent.
