Astonishment and Threat

[Before the arrival of Christopher]

Nolan was astonished to say the least.

To see his son breaking the centuries old tradition between the Blades and Ashblades left him shocked to the core.

Seeing him treating his Ashblade as a fellow friend than rather a potential slave to use and discard away left Nolan pleased at the scene.

Even he wanted to do the same at his Ashblade Ceremony but due to the fear of repercussions that would follow, Nolan chose to keep his mouth shut and improve his relations afterwards.

A choice he soon came to regret as his Ashblade died protecting him in a dungeon outbreak while they were still improving their relation.

'He's just like the old man. No matter how cold he might appear to others, he cares for the weak who might turn into slaves because of him.' This was the thought that crossed Nolan's mind as Arthur was coming back.
