Dealing with Thugs

Harper Martinez looked at Ava Sterling, her jaw clenched tightly. "I grew up in a single-parent family. My mother passed away from an illness when I was very young, and my father turned to alcohol. Whenever he drank, he'd take his anger out on me. I thought I had escaped that life when I moved away from our small town. But after a few peaceful years, he suddenly reappeared in my life, and I couldn't avoid him. Recently, he accumulated a huge debt at a casino, and now, those casino goons are hounding me for repayment. He claims that as his daughter, I'm obligated to settle his debts. Somehow, they found out I work at your company and have been lurking downstairs, threatening to cause a scene if I don't pay up."

Harper Martinez covered her face with her hands, sobbing quietly, "All I wanted was a peaceful life. The thing I regret most in this world is being his daughter. I wish he were dead, do you understand? I detest him so much!"
