Jealousy

Nathan arrived home just moments after Ava did. Recalling their earlier unpleasant exchange, she didn't bother to speak and headed straight upstairs. She thought bitterly, "Why come home at all if he was so infuriated today? Why not seek solace with the gentle and understanding Iris?"

Already angry, Nathan's mood darkened further when he noticed Ava ignoring him entirely.

"Ava, stop right there," he demanded.

However, Ava didn't just stop; she sped up, rushing into her bedroom and swiftly locking the door behind her. Standing defiantly with her hands on her hips, she muttered smugly, "Let's see how you'll bother me now."

But her triumph was short-lived. The sound of a key turning in the lock made her freeze in confusion. She had forgotten Nathan had a key to her room! As she was regretting her oversight, Nathan was already opening the door, his expression icy.
