Prenatal Checkup

As the end of the workday approached, Ava grew worried when Nathan didn't return. In reality, Nathan had already come home but remained in the garage, unable to step inside.

His mother's words echoed in his mind, causing a seed of doubt to take root. He knew it was wrong to feel this way, but once the seed of suspicion was planted, it was bound to grow. When Ava's pregnancy was first discovered, he was too overjoyed to think much of the timing. But now, as he reflected, he realized that Ava had been spending a lot of time with Alex around that period.

Nathan didn't want to suspect Ava, but the more he connected the dots, the harder it was to ignore.
