Along the way, Ava meticulously picked out items, while Nathan seemed detached and uninvolved.

"Nathan, grab some of your favorite foods. Did you think I asked you to come just to carry the bags for me?"

Nathan smiled and nodded. It was the first time he had smiled since the incident, and Ava was slightly surprised, thinking that taking him out for a while was indeed helpful.
