Chapter 2

Emma's POV

The full moon the next night was a miserable yellow. We had agreed to meet at 9 P.M., but I arrived at 8:30 P.M. Not only had I arrived early, but I had also put on makeup and my favorite red dress. I pulled my hair up high, revealing my long and fair neck. This night, I was going to show up like a fearless goddess, not an abandoned stray dog. However, probably due to the wind that night, I had a fever and felt uncomfortable.

At 9 P.M., Hector showed up with a grim face. I had been waiting for him for half an hour. When he saw me, his eyes flashed with surprise at first, but it was soon replaced by displeasure. "You are quite active," he said as he bypassed me without expression and walked quickly toward the Pack House.

This guy was weird. Staring at his tall and ruthless back, I thought, "You are walking in such a hurry. Aren't you also active?"

The ceremony was done quickly within ten minutes. Under the Elders’ witness, we formally rejected each other.

"I, Emma Green, reject you, Hector Saunders, as my mate."

"I, Hector Saunders, accept the rejection."

Afterward, I smiled. Hector, on the other hand, had a dark expression and seemed very unhappy. This guy was really strange, but I didn't care enough to pay attention.

The Elders said, "According to tradition, as Alpha and Luna, there is a one-month cooling-off period for this rejection. Within 30 days, if either of you wants to withdraw this rejection, you can unilaterally cancel it with the words: I refuse the rejection and pray the Moon Goddess maintains our bond." After the Elders finished speaking, they turned back and left.

One of the Elders suddenly stopped and said, "Think it through, Alpha and Luna. It’s uncommon to see an Alpha reject his Luna after four years of marriage. We have seen many werewolves reject their mates. Some cried, some made trouble, and some fought, but you two, so calm." After saying this, he left.

I felt very ironic. "There is a cooling-off period for rejection between an Alpha and a Luna, but why is there no cooling-off period for their marriage? If there is a cooling-off period for marriage..."

Hector's face darkened, and he sneered. "If there is a cooling-off period for marriage, you won't marry me and be my Luna?"

"I will," I smiled. "I got 80 million. Ordinary werewolves can't earn so much after working for a lifetime."

Hector's face turned darker, and he tugged on his tie irritably. In the past, I always looked gentle, with no temper at all. But now that we were rejecting each other, I became free and sharp.

When we were about to part ways, a soft voice came from behind us. "Hector, are you done?"

I looked back and saw Thea. She was wearing a white dress, with mournful eyes, looking kind and gentle. She didn't look as arrogant as that night. Moreover, I didn't pay attention to her that day, but now I realized Thea's stomach was a little bulging.

"Didn't I tell you to wait for me in the house? Why did you come out? It's cold outside. The child in your stomach is very important to The Blood Stone Pack. You can't catch a cold." Hector's voice was full of alienation. Looking at the interaction between the two, I felt upset in my heart and asked with a smile,

"Alpha Saunders, can you give me an explanation?"

Hector looked at me, and his handsome face was calm. "You don't need to know."

I thought everything was ridiculous. I always thought that even though Hector didn’t mark me, he disdained messing with other women. However, he had a mistress, and they also had a child. I suddenly became sober, and the sadness in my heart disappeared.

"So, you are cheating on your mate?"

Hector's POV

This woman smiled. She was rejected by me, and she smiled? She was happy? Isn't she obsessed with me? I clenched my fists. The whole ceremony upset me, both her reaction and the yelling Rex, my wolf. Rex even tried to grab control of the body. I compelled him and he continued to yell.

"Hector, what the hell are you doing? I think she’s our fated mate, seriously. How could you decide to reject her without my agreement?"

"You’ll regret it. I swear to the Moon!"

"Shut up." I stopped Rex, walked out of the Pack House with Emma, and was about to part ways with her when Thea unexpectedly arrived.

I frowned, what was she doing here? I thought I told her to stay home. What a troublemaker. I requested Thea take good care of herself. For the god's sake, I could not let anything happen to her child.

At this time, Emma's voice rang in my ears. "Alpha Saunders, can you give me an explanation?"

"Emma’s right. Give her and I an explanation!" Rex yelled.

I looked at Emma, even though I felt guilty for her, I still said coldly, "You don't need to know."

"So, you are cheating on your mate?"

I didn't want to explain. But before I could speak, Thea stood between us with tears in her eyes. "Miss Green, it's all my fault."

I was speechless. What the hell was Thea talking about?

"Really?" Emma raised her arms high, as if to slap Thea.

I frowned but was somehow happy to see Emma jealous. This woman just laughed when she was rejected by me, trying to be tough, right?

Thea hid behind me. "Isn't it your fault? Why are you hiding?" Emma flicked my hair and said with a smile, "Life is not a drama, and I won't hit you. Plus, you should still call me Mrs. Saunders, even though I don’t care about this pathetic title. But tradition, right? But if you really love each other, I will help you."

"What?" Thea was stunned. So was I. What did she mean? Help us?

I said, "Since it is an affair within marriage, I think we should renegotiate the division of property in our property gift agreement."

When Thea heard that Emma wanted to fight for property, she was anxious and said in an excited tone, "Hector has given you 80 million and a house. He is generous enough. Besides, in the past few years, The Blood Stone Pack has spent a lot of money in order to clean up the mess for The Silver Moon Pack. You can't be too greedy."

Emma laughed and said, "We just rejected each other, but you're afraid that I'll get his money. Who is greedy?"

Thea seemed to have been slapped in the face. Her face flushed and then turned pale. "I didn't mean that..."

Rex yelled, "Listen to Emma, that woman is a bitch!"

I didn't show much expression. I stared at Emma and said coldly, "Continue." And I blocked Rex in my mind.

Emma expressed herself in a straightforward manner: "I don't want the 80 million, and I don't want the house. You have a law office called Blosso Law Office under your name. Transfer it to me."

"Blosso Law Office?" I frowned slightly.

As the head of the eight major packs in Nuyork, The Blood Stone Pack had many properties, and I was not very impressed with the law office. However, I remembered that there seemed to be such a law office dedicated to dealing with the legal affairs of The Blood Stone Pack. The people there were idlers, so it was worthless.

This woman didn't want 80 million but wanted something that didn't make money. What was she thinking? I looked at her with surprise and confusion.

"I only have this request. After the agreement is revised, I'll get it for you to sign. By the way, I wish you have a son soon." Emma raised her chin, and her face was full of joy as if she had just made a big deal.

I was just about to say something. Unexpectedly, Emma suddenly tilted her body and was about to fall...

WTH?!
