Chapter 14

At hearing my fearful voice he seemed to snap out of whatever trance he was in, he stood up straighter and held his hands up in front of him in a gesture of surrender. I didn't realize I was crying until I tasted the salty liquid on my chapped lips. I sniffled as I hurried wiped away my tears with my fingertips only to have them quickly return. I could feel them slowly make their way down my face finding their own path before they went to my jaw either going under my chin or falling onto the duvet turning the already dark material darker.

"I'm not going to hurt you." His voice was deep and smooth like velvet, lightly caressing my ears as I found myself wanting to hear it over and over again.
