Chapter 2 I'll Trouble You, My Ex-Husband

His eyes didn't even register her presence.

Bonnie shrugged nonchalantly, "Believe it or not, just sign the papers first, then come with me to the courthouse."

It was unknown if Ambrose had heard her. He lowered his gaze to glance at the divorce agreement papers, his voice cold as ice, "If you think you can use these tactics to win my sympathy, think again. I won't help you with your resources."

His words hurt Bonnie deeply.

Before she married him, she had been somewhat famous in the entertainment industry, relying on her own talents and hard work. But because she had married him secretly, her reputation had become tarnished and she could no longer land any roles in any movies or TV shows.

For years, she had never considered turning to him for help, and now he thought she was begging him for help.

She couldn't take it anymore.

"You're a real jerk," Bonnie crossed her arms over her chest, "I must have been blind to have fallen for you."

Ambrose looked up at her, his gaze as cold as ice. It seemed as if the air around him had dropped in temperature, "What did you say?"

Suddenly, she thought of something, "Your little dream girl is back, right? Well, I can give you two the bed, and everyone will be happy. Isn't that nice?"

She said it so casually that no one would believe that she was the most miserable wife in this marriage.

After she spoke, Ambrose finally gave her a serious look, "Are you sure?"

After he received her affirmative answer, Ambrose finally finished reading the thick stack of divorce agreement papers.

To sum it up, she would leave him without taking anything.

Women like Bonnie were not uncommon in the entertainment industry. After all, she had done everything in her power to become Mrs. Barron. But if she really wanted nothing, there had to be a hidden agenda.

He snorted, "If you want something, just say it. I don't have time to waste with you anymore."

Seeing that he didn't believe her, she didn't bother to say more, "Just go with me if you wanna find out whether I'm really divorcing you or not."

Ambrose had already made up his mind that she was just being dramatic, so he continued to mock her until they arrived at the courthouse, "Mrs. Barron, you can tell me now. What do you want?"

Bonnie sat in the passenger seat, applying some lipstick. She smirked, "I do want one thing from you."

"Go ahead."

"I want a divorce from you."

She uttered the sentence and walked into the courthouse with decisive steps.

Ambrose, who was still in the driver's seat, relaxed his brows a bit and finally realized that this woman was serious.

After the two sat down, the staff were stunned by their demeanor, but immediately regained their composure and proceeded according to the procedure.

After all, there were too many rich people like them who got divorced. Most of them were just putting up a front and drifting apart. Men would cheat and women decided to not accept it anymore and file for divorce.

Finally, before stamping the papers, the staff followed the procedure and asked, "Why are you getting divorced?"

Bonnie replied nonchalantly, "Bored."

The man did not even give her a glance throughout the process, but she could feel his anger emanating from his body.

The staff was stunned, stamped the papers, and distributed the divorce certificates.

Most divorced couples would go their separate ways after walking out, but Bonnie still got back into the car and said, "I have to trouble you, my ex-husband, to take me back to your house. I left in a hurry and didn't pack my things."

Ambrose's anger persisted until they reached the villa's gate. He remained cold and silent the entire time.

Bonnie walked in confidently. When Alanna saw her return, she pointed at her and shouted angrily, "How dare you come back!?"

"Now I am a guest. Miss Barron, please be polite." Bonnie chose to ignore her once again and walked upstairs.

Alanna was too angry to speak, but Mrs. Barron reacted first and asked the man who had just walked in, "Did you really get divorced, Ambrose?"

The man stared at Bonnie as she went upstairs and nodded heavily.

Seeing the confirmation, both of them gasped for air. After all, no one had really believed the woman's words in the morning.

How could they believe that the woman who had been persistent and tenacious for years would actually... actually get a divorce from Ambrose so easily!?

Mrs. Barron felt a bit dizzy, trying to calm herself down, and asked, "How much money did she ask for?"

"Nothing."

"How is that possible!" Alanna shook her head in disbelief, "Ambrose, did she threaten you with something else?"

Ambrose pursed his lips and said nothing.
